Fabulous fine dining experience in Oban. Sadly you'll have to wait until next year to enjoy this gastronomic delight as it's closing this week until 2024. We enjoyed a brilliant 7 course tasting menu served by the wonderfully charming owner. Chef is outstanding. If you have a special occasion or are a foodie...this is definitely a must dine.

Hands down, one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Calling it merely a meal doesn't really do it justice. It was a food experience. Everything throughout the tasting menu was masterfully prepared and beautifully presented. The owner and his staff did a wonderful job of taking care of the guests, chatting with them, thoroughly answering questions about various parts of the menu, and just overall being gracious hosts. From the sea trout, to the potatoes, to the highland beef, it's all delicious. The dessert at the end is absolutely amazing and will take you completely by surprise.

We had a fantastic meal at etive at the start of our Scotland trip. The food was special and the service exceptional. The ambience is acceptable but not what you would expect for the price. Even so, it’s the best meal we’ve had and would highly recommend this restaurant. The host, David made it even more special.

The whole experience was great from start to finish. The night started with water which, at 4£ a bottle, was a bargain compared to what I’ve seen before. The wine list was then presented and I opted for the 14 beaucastel for 120£, a very fair mark up. David then brought out the bottle and informed me that my bottle of 2014 would be accompanied by a glass of the 2012, poured from a half bottle used to wash the decanter, a service treat I have never experienced before. The food was delicious and presented well, with my favorite being the potato cheddar dish with chives and truffle oil, pictured below. The scallops were also cooked perfectly, and served in a superb sauce. That being said, at the end of my meal I ordered a double espresso, which I saw on the receipt to be 8£, the only thing in the restaurant I would say isn’t worth the price. Despite the pricing, it was presented with small pieces of fudge and chocolate if my memory serves correctly. That is nitpicking though, a testament to the quality of the restaurant. Just like the 2012 beaucastel, I give the experience 94p. Special thanks to David and the other waitress, (I forgot her name unfortunately), service was great the whole night.

A highlight of our time in Oban! The tasting menu is creative and delicious, while the service is warm and attentive. I loved hearing about the local sourcing of the ingredients. If you can, definitely add the wine pairing to the meal. Would highly recommend!

Outstanding tasting menu! Each course was beautifully presented and absolutely tastes great. Subtle flavour and combinations- my husband has land & sea and I had the land (vegetarian option) and both were rich and flavourful. Service was also top notch! Would highly recommend!!

Absolutely phenomenal dining experience. We went for the Land & Sea tasting menu, with the matching wine flight. Every single course blew me away and the wines were perfect. The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the food and drink, but also gave us space to enjoy the atmosphere.

This restaurant is fantastic! The wine pairing and tasting menu were very impressive. It’s even more impressive that this whole dining experience was done by a 2 man crew. We cannot wait to return when we come back to Scotland

We had the tasting menu in January and it was amazing. My favourite thing was probably the Oban whiskey ice cream with honey and oats.. but even my sweet tooth enjoyed every single dish. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and everything you would expect from a Michelin starred place. I hope to come again soon!
