Despite their kitchens being closed for reform at the time of our visit, they whipped up an amazing spread of pork pie scotch egg and pickles - superb. + Great cask ale. Inc Timothy Tailors Landlord

6 of us came here to eat while staying locally. A small, friendly pub, the food was lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful. I had the pie and chips which was delicious.

What a lovely pub and landlord and landlady. The food was great and we were very grateful that they cooked for us . The Butty Bach was the best I have tasted for a very long time . Thank you 😊

Several well cared for casks of ale from Ludlow and Wye Valley. Lunch menu is a bit underwhelming but the pub was welcoming for two American outsiders on a Sunday afternoon when other spots in Ludlow were booked. The dinner entrees looked more substantial and tasty.

Lovely little old style, old fashioned village pub. No gastro, and no designer beer, just nice quiet and friendly. I liked it's honestly and charm.

In CAMRA's Good Beer Guide, and deservedly so. Popular with cyclists and dog walkers and with big wiundows (it used to be the village shop)

Like walking into someone's living room more than a pub. Spotted this place cycling along the national cycle route that goes right past and couldn't resist. Lovely friendly place, and incredible pork pies from a local butcher. Really recommend calling by if you're going past or need a break from the Shropshire hills on your bike!
