I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Wheatsheaf pub in Onneley, and I must say that it was a truly exceptional experience. From the delicious food to the charming surroundings and impeccable staff service, this establishment exceeded my expectations in every way. Let's start with the food, which was nothing short of brilliant. The menu offered a wide variety of options to cater to different tastes and preferences. Whether you're a fan of traditional pub classics or more adventurous dishes, The Wheatsheaf has something for everyone. I had the pleasure of trying their signature dish, the "Sheaf Special Steak Pie," and it was a gastronomic delight. The pastry was perfectly flaky, and the filling was rich and flavorful, a true testament to the chef's skill and attention to detail. The portion size was generous, ensuring that I left the table completely satisfied. What truly sets The Wheatsheaf apart, though, is its inviting surroundings and superb decor. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by the warm ambiance of a traditional English pub. The cozy wooden interior, complete with exposed beams and a roaring fireplace, creates an inviting and homely atmosphere. Whether you're visiting for a romantic dinner or a casual meal with friends, the ambiance at The Wheatsheaf sets the perfect mood for any occasion. It's a place where you can unwind, enjoy good company, and savor exceptional food. Equally impressive was the staff service at The Wheatsheaf. The attentive and friendly waitstaff made me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. They were knowledgeable about the menu and were more than happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions. Their professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile for their customers were evident throughout the evening. It's clear that the staff at The Wheatsheaf takes great pride in ensuring that every diner has a memorable and enjoyable experience. In addition to the exceptional food, surroundings, and staff, I must also commend The Wheatsheaf for their commitment to cleanliness and safety. In these uncertain times, it's reassuring to see an establishment that takes health and hygiene seriously. The tables were well-spaced, hand sanitizers were readily available, and the staff wore masks to ensure the safety of both guests and employees. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend The Wheatsheaf pub in Onneley to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. With its brilliant food, superb surroundings, and top-notch staff service, it's no surprise that I would rate my visit with a well-deserved 5 stars. Whether you're a local resident or just passing through the area, this charming pub is a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered. I can't wait to return for another exceptional meal at The Wheatsheaf.

Anyone wanting to break up the journey from Scotland to South England could do much worse than chose the Wheatsheaf. Good food, Great breakfast and good size rooms with comfy beds and proper size tv. Showers are good too. Very nice chatty staff and the boss is a good bloke. But the best thing is the 11am checkout and breakfast served till 10am. Who wants to get up at 7.30 when on holiday, made an overnight rest stop very, well, restful. Highly recommended.

We stayed one night; rooms were spacious and clean. Staff weren’t super friendly and a service charge is automatically applied to the bill with the byline “let us know if you want us to remove it”, making it a little bit awkward if you don’t want to tip. Location isn’t great; the road outside is quite busy and there is very little nearby. Breakfast and food was wonderful; we had the duck spring rolls as a light dinner. Gin and tonic menu could use some work; recommended accompaniments on the menu were not available. Coffee in the morning was a a standout.

Lovely staff, full of smiles, and very attentive. Nice place and location. We've e been here many times, but today the gammon is rather salty and the pudding isn't that gorgeous as it was. Even asked the staff if they have a new chef. This won't put us off anyway.

Can't fault the place. The room was tastefully decorated and very clean. Nice touch with the power sockets both sides of the bed, both with integrated USB sockets. Bed was extremely comfy and very little noise from the bar downstairs. Great value stop.
