Given that some 50+ walkers suddenly descended on the premises for 3 hrs or so the pub and staff did very well to entertain us. There was a fine range of reals ales and lagers and I particularly enjoyed the Aragon Bitter. ....a very smooth drink with a long after-taste. The gentleman (landlord?) behind the bar coped extremely well on his own and glasses were collected/ cleaned very ably by a lady (landlady?) to keep the flow going. An excellent fish & chips shop nextdoor softened the lack of food available until 6.00pm. We gave them their pub back after 6.30pm with smiles all round. Aycliffe Fell Walkers Club..

Lovely pub, friendly staff, friendly locals & GREAT food. The steak pie is delish. They even allowed our wet soggy dogs in after trailing about in the rain exploring the village. The place is spotless will defo pop in again if we're ever about. Thank you for making our visit enjoyable.

Customary pint or two in The Queen Catherine every time we stay at Cote Grhyll caravan park. Keep an eye out for the acts on the weekends. We seen Old red eyes in here a Paul Heaton tribute and it was a class act in a class venue. Brilliant!!!

We had a meal only. It was a lovely pub/hotel. The service was excellent. Very friendly staff. The meal was super delicious. Absolutely perfect. One of the best I've had. Pan seared salmon on a bed of garlic and thyme mash laid on tomato and basil sauce. Mouth watering. Applecrumble and custard /ice cream yummy. Will go back for another mouth watering meal. I was in awe of the hand painted old world maps of North Yorkshire on the walls and a beautifully painted mural on back of the wall. Roseberry topping and the surrounding countryside with a beautiful pheasant perched in the front of painting with fantastic colours standing at the forefront looking to be on the back bench. WOW.WHAT AN ARTIST.!!! Recommend a country visit to this The Three Tuns pub. If you like the good old fashioned Country pub that's animal friendly then I definitely recommend it. Internet there free Wi-Fi.very Relaxing.

Bar food was OK. 2 x scampi n chips, 1 x Tuna sandwich and 1 x cheese burger. Plus a few drinks. Used this as a stop of whilst walking as it was situated in the centre of the village. Very quiet. Not busy at all at 1230 in August.

Had lunch outside, just a sandwich but the bacon was freshly cooked just right and the fried eggs were crispy with soft yolks. After a long walk it really hit the spot.

(Pub only, we didn't stay) Staff are friendly, decent choice of drinks. Pretty expensive for what it is, but nice outside seating area & in a lovely location. Great for a post hike pint! The food is average for the price, nothing special but nice enough.

Well popped into this pub for a family meal and with having 3 little boys all boisterous I though bet we're not welcome here again, but the next night we were greeted with a warm welcome and the lass removed a reserve card from the best table in the pub with us being a large family and she and the staff were absolutely brilliant to us. We felt so welcome to this pub we came in every evening and during the day sometimes for the whole week. Even the manager /owner bent over backwards for us. Honestly we felt so comfortable. This is the most friendly pub we have ever been too... Families are definitely welcome

Called in here for lunch. Would not have been our first choice but other two pubs in village closed. However, a great choice. Dog friendly. We both had a bacon, two eggs baquet and shared a plate of yummy chips. Thoroughly enjoyed and food reasonable prices. Would have given 5⭐️s but £8 plus for a large Chardonnay was a bitter pill to swallow.

After a long walk and being caught in the rain, 5 of us @ 3 pm sat outside the front of the pub in the sun, loads of tables with sun umbrellas over (electric heaters attached) to choose from. Within minutes a lovely pleasant cheerful lady came out and took our drink and food order. We waited approx 30 minutes for the food to arrive sat in the most stunning, modern, cleanest and prettiest patio area. This owner has obviously spent a lot of time & money to create this wonderful, tasteful and impressive seating area for his guests. The attention to detail of grey umbrella's matching the rattan chairs and many plant pots filled with an abundance of beautiful cream begonias, oh it looked stunning, very very tasteful....wow it all looked amazing ! The food arrived, steak n ale pies, parmesan's and prawn jacket potatoe, all were fabulously presented and tasted wonderful, absolutely no complaints whatsoever everything was perfect. My partner commented at the large amount of steak in his pie and how nice the chips were, he was very pleased, in fact we all were. We're more than happy to return ! 10/10 for the food, drink, the service, the cleanliness and the surroundings ! Thank you for the wonderful experience 🙂

Decent, wholesome food and good service. Pretty quiet, and could have done with the fire on to warm things up a bit. Beer selection was reasonable, but a free hand-pulls were off, leaving on Tim Taylor’s Landlord on offer - which was good enough.
