I had a lovely meal here and a chat with the proprietor. 47 years and still going strong. I would highly recommend to anybody in the area.
Great food as always George and staff are great can never fault food or service
I had a curry last night from this local curry house and it knocks socks off all the other curry houses in Oswestry, I now wonโt eat curry from anywhere else sort from this place
Always top quality food and excellent service.Staff are always welcoming and friendly.
Great food, good friendly service. Definitely worth a visit.
Fabulous meal, great service. There's a reason you've been successful for forty years! Thanks guys.
Best Indian restaurant and takeaway in town! Amazing food, brilliant staff, so friendly and welcoming every time! Wouldn't go anywhere else!
Lovely meal friendly +helpfull staff +thanks for the lift to the train station will be back very soon xx
Family never miss an opportunity to eat there wether they live in the UK or Australia.
Always a great meal and great service ๐
Lovely curry house and all the staff. Head commander, 'George', is great and always in control.
Was staying in Oswestry for a couple of nights so I looked to see if there was an Indian in the town, & boy was I glad I did as the place is just amazing.
There are plenty of tables but it was quite busy for a Wednesday night so it will definitely be busy on a Friday & Saturday so best to book.
They have a great choice on the menu, plenty of speciality meals, starters, the usual meals like Kormas, masalas etc & a selection of rice's & naan breads.
My husband had the tandoori chicken to start & that was delicious with good chunks of chicken.
For our main we ordered a chicken curry, (sorry the name escapes me) with garlic rice and it really was soo good.
The poppadoms were excellent too as not greasy but crispy & came with onions, mango, lime pickle & a spicy red one ๐
I have to say it was one of the best Indian meals I've ever had, I really couldn't fault it at all, I wish I lived local to it ๐
The staff are wonderful & extremely helpful, they have been in business for 45 years which says everything ๐
Best Indian meal we have had in a long time. It's a shame we were only passing through or this would definitely become our regular. The service was quick and efficient, but also warm and welcoming. The food was delicious. Lamb just melted in the mouth.
First time going to this restaurant and it won't be the last. As soon as you walk in, you see that the restaurant is lovely and looks like a newly opened place but has actually been open since 1976. That in itself shows how well liked it is. Staff were very helpful and polite. The food was beautiful and very good sized portions. They brought up plastic tubs and bags for the food that we couldn't manage. I would definitely recommend here to anyone looking for a good Indian meal. We will definitely be back in the very near future.

For a long time, the simla has been serving the best Indian food in Oswestry. Tonight for the Mrs birthday, they went above and beyond and I am massively appreciative.
It's been a while since I have been here and this review is late to the party, but really enjoyed my time here. The special red sauce locally made is amazing and at the time so much hotter than the Madras I had. But it tasted so good. Even took some back home. Highly recommend Simla.
Favourite place for a curry, staff are polite, friendly and very welcoming. Plenty of choice on the menu and the portions are a decent size, naan breads are fresh and tasty, its no wonder the place has been going 47 years it's spot on, would highly recommend!

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The photo shows what I thought of the meal. Thanks
Eaten here twice and had a couple of takeaways and is by far the best Indian Iโve had in a long time. I live in Wrexham but itโs well worth the 1 hour round trip for a takeaway or meal in. Will be going again tonight for my wifeโs birthday and will be going a fair few more times
Top quality food! Service was a little slow, but they were very busy. The place could do with another toilet and perhaps better ventilation because it was hot inside (before, during and after eating!)
Fantastic food, big portions, great value and great service. The staff here are friendly and the restaurant was busy with people that seemed to be local/regulars which is usually a pretty good sign. We stayed in the area 3 nights and dined here on two nights. We parked easily in the parking bays on the road, maybe 100 yards away from the restaurant. Would definitely recommend a visit.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
One of the best Indian that I ever tried in uk. Food is delicious, good proper portions, fair price, amazing customer service.
Pappadoum that u bring you as starter are very crispy and the sauces (sweet mango-hot chilly-pickled lime) really matching with the onions.

Atmosphere relaxed--friendly, pleasent surroundings and bright.

Went there for a meal Mr Nagar who works there at this time makes a signature chutney dish out of this world. Care and service brilliant. Loved the owner and wife asking us were we enjoying the experience. Also font of wisdom on local sites as well. A must to visit. Parked in market for free from 6pm to 8am
