Just returned from an amazing family meal. This is not your usual pub grub - the menu is vast and unique. Ate food that I've never tried before and thoroughly enjoyed it! I opted for Veg Sabo ...husband has lamb dry red chili..we shared noodles and there was enough for us both. Food was delicious, spicy and flavoursome. Honestly food was delightful- we found it hard to choose so asked for recommendations from the waitress, Angelika. She listened to our requests and was able to recommend food for us both. I can not wait to return and try something else! The children had fish and chips...Great portions and all was eaten! Husband is tempted to visit again on a Sunday to try the roasts. Lovely chilled atmosphere inside the pub, and nice pub garden to the front.

Stopped in on our way thru town. Food was delicious, beer selection good and staff friendly. One side was fitting for the pup to relax with us. Nice little find. Highly recommend.
I recently visited The Castle for the first time and was blown away by the amazing food. The homemade sauces were especially delicious and really added to the overall experience. The staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. This pub is truly a hidden gem and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in a cozy atmosphere.
Venue is very nice, staff were very friendly. Unfortunately none of the bar staff knew how to pour a pint. We were given two pints that were ridiculously short with a massive head. When we asked the staff to top them up one of them pointed to the glass at the 'pint' badge as if to indicate that it was a pint to line glass, when it fact it wasn't. Eventually the staff topped up our pints to actual legal measures. The food was very good, however it did take a while to arrive at the table and came in dribs and drabs rather than all at once. One of our party ordered lamb medium rare, but unfortunately it was cooked Well done, it wasn't worth sending it back as we all just wanted to eat by that point. Overall a positive experience, just more training needed for the bar staff on how to pour a pint!

Very friendly service, lovely pub garden, AMAZING food. They have a new menu of Hakka (Asian) cuisine and it’s super fresh and delicious. Cannot recommend enough.
Absolutely brilliant food. I am coeliac and the chef personally helped with my selection, and tweaked the dishes for me. Cant recommend highly enough. The food was amazing and very generous portions.
Excellent home made roast dinner, always busy on Sunday lunch so booking recommended. Have always found the staff to be friendly, landlord is a bit eccentric, but adds to the quirkiness! Good place for a quick pint or a more leisurely at up with friends.
Me and my friend (pictured) drove here and were able to park conveniently right in front of the pub! The staff were extremely friendly, one of them even laughed at my jokes which is a rarity. The Guinness was superb and this can be telling of the establishment as a whole. They also offered us a rewards card on arrival which gifted a free pint for every six purchased - very handy if you're going as a large group! The Heineken silver wasn't for us but you can't please everyone in this day and age. Will definitely be back here in the near future.
Excellent food and decent beers. Fish and chips were top notch. Very welcoming staff for our first visit. Will be back.
Update after returning for a second visit:
I had a great return to The Castle! The Sunday roast with a pan Asian twist blew me away. The beef was cooked to perfection, so juicy and tender, and the pan Asian flavors took it to a whole new level. The veggies were amazing too, bursting with flavor and cooked just right.
As soon as I walked in, I felt the friendly vibes. The staff were super nice and made me feel right at home. Got to give a shout-out to May, who did an awesome job taking care of us.
Well kept craft beers.
I can't recommend The Castle enough! The food is out of this world, the craft beer rocks, and the service is top-notch. If you want an amazing dining experience in a laid-back atmosphere, go straight to The Castle. It's a five-star gem!

My husband & I had a lovely roast dinner today. Perfectly cooked. Clear plates all around us great sign of good food.
Desserts were nice too.
