Excellent food , perfect execution of all dishes, wonderful flavours , truly spoilt for choice when it comes to food. The owner Ali & his staff are always soooo courteous and polite they make you feel like you’re at home , a very personal touch !! I can’t rave enough about this place , we’ve been going there as a family for years , it never gets old - we look forward to our experience every time we go 👍👍

We had a wonderful dinner here for my husband's birthday and we too were surprised when 'happy birthday' started playing. It was a very kind gesture and the service the entire evening was flawless. The food was great and I had the best chicken shaslick I've ever tasted. When back in Oxford we will definitely be visiting the Spice Lounge again!

My sons choice of restaurant for his 14th birthday. Once we had finished our meal all of a sudden happy birthday song blares out of the speakers and we were brought a birthday cake. How cool is that. Lovely evening, with lovely staff. Thank you so much. You guys made it extra special. 💜

As an undergraduate student my friends and I wanted to get takeaway but the manager was very kind to let us eat in with takeaway prices and served us very kindly and the wait was not long.
The crunchy papadums came with mint with curd, mango chutney and onions. 😋
I ordered the Chicken Biryani and it was delicious, a good mix of spicy, savoury and hearty and it was incredibly filling.
My friends really enjoyed their paneer, tikka masala and makhan too. They were so happy.
Music was great and service superb!

Fantastic meal. The food was first-class, great portions and well presented. The staff are great very friendly and make you feel very welcome. Will be going back next time we are in Oxford.
It's been on the list to visit for a while and we managed to get here for an early Sunday evening family meal. Kids catered for if you need that. We had 8 in our party and the bill was around £330. Food was great and full of flavour. Service was good and staff great. Would return.
Good variety. We went for a team dinner and ordered a lot of items. I ordered biriyani, it tasted good.
The host who took our order was an animated person, it was fun to place the order.
Loved our experience at Spice Lounge! The menu has so much choice, all your standard curries you’d expect plus more I’d never heard of! Poppadoms and chutneys were some of the best I’ve ever had, all of our curries were delicious and distinct flavours, and the sides and the sharing platter were great too. Service was very friendly and welcoming and we felt really relaxed. Will definitely be making this our regular curry house!
I often drive all the way from Witney to get a takeaway from Spice Lounge, that should tell you how good it is! Excllent quality food and the staff are brilliant. I've never had a bad meal from here. Its always delicious, you can tell it is fresh and the ingredients are good quality, you'd need to go London or Birmingham to find an Indian restaurant of equivalent level. Easily the best Indian in Oxford!

We celebrated our two kids 18th & 20th Birthdays here. Food was great , atmosphere comfortable and restaurant menu had a good choice. Service welcoming with good attention to detail and personalised where my oldest daughter who has food allergies catered to. The serving team even put a sparkling candle on our birthday cake , which made a fun and memorable cake entry to our table. All In all we had a good relaxing night. Would recommend for those special occasions.
Nice restaurant and reasonable cost. Not the best Indian food I’ve ever had (chicken was a bit dry and the naan was a bit soggy) but overall it was nice, I enjoyed my chicken dhansak and the service was good. I would return.
A lovely experience with excellent and fast service! Our server Ali was cheery and happy to help, and the food was delicious! The Tadka Dal and garlic rice were both freshly made and great.

Food is as good as the service. We call it the “top-up curry” because the leftovers beg a top up order the following evening. We want to eat this curry for days and embarrassingly have. Such nice people - tikka masala and prawns are 😍
Excellent home-style food, cooked and presented with care. I highly recommend the lamb shatkora, a traditional Bangladeshi curry made with lemons. Friendly service added to the experience.
Very tasty, greatly varied and nicely presented food. The lamb tikka tandoori and the bagari baingan are highly recommended! Very attentive staff! We re going to be back on our next visit to Oxford.
Solo meal away on business and this was a short walk from the hotel. Quick service and the food was excellent! All arrived out quick and was hot! All staff very polite and super attentive, would 100% reccomended.
They have a nice atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating available.

We were passing through Oxford on our way back from Swindon and found the Spice Lounge courtesy of trip advisor.
First impressions are OK, it was early Saturday night and unsurprisingly the restaurant dad a bit quiet given Covid and the high temperatures at the moment.
Good Covid measures are in place which they were reassuringly taking seriously. The service was as good as it could be with our waiters wearing full face masks. It is a pleasant dining room but I reckon it could get quite noisy if there was a loud party or two given the hard surfaces and lack of soft furnishings.
The menu is your typical Bangladeshi offering a bit limited and nothing different apart from the chicken garam masalla which I had not seen before. The onion bhajis at three tiddlers for over a fiver were pound for pound the most expensive I have eaten. I went for the garam masalla chicken as it was alegedly their most flavoursome dish. It was nice, great chicken but the sauce was a bit thin for my taste. I actually preferred the taste and texture of the wife's balti, she thought it was excellent but it was also a bit oily. No complaint with the sides, the naan better than the rice. Being from the midlands, the bill was very expensive for what we had, I know we are in Oxford but even so!
It didn't end well when I was asked by the waiter if I would like to leave a tip, I usually do but never when asked.
All in all not a bad evening and I would be more than happy to return.
Spice lounge is a lovely Indian restaurant at the heart of Summertown. We had Chicken Garam Massala, Lamb Razzalla, Tandoori Chicken with Tarka Daal, Rice and Tandoori Roti. All very tasty and service was friendly. Thank you
