This is my 3rd time here. Excellent place for seafood in Oxford, probably the best so far. The environment is quite nice, food tastes good, and the staff and their service is excellent indeed. I love this place.
Fantastic food, really friendly staff, would recommend the oysters-very fresh, would recommend to anyone that loves fish!
At Cuttlefish again over the weekend, our second family gathering in the last few of months and again a triumph of superb food and excellent service, but visits have been a roaring success, all family members have commented how good the food has been and much they have enjoyed the evenings, the service has been top class, truly warm and friendly, a pleasure in all respects, indeed Cuttlefish is carrying the torch of it’s illustrious forebears, long May they last too, would recommend to anyone without hesitation.
I regularly lunch here with my great friends. We are all lovers of good food especially fish and shellfish. The regular menu is always enhanced by daily specials which are always good options. (Similar to brilliant specials in La Cucina next door who also run this restaurant) Food is reasonably priced, as is the wine. The seafood platter is wonderful and reasonably priced. Always warmly welcomed and service is casually attentive. Highly recommended.
Great food with incredible service.
The menu was brilliantness and had something for everyone. Even had a children's menu.
7 of us ate and the food was delivered hot and all at the same time.
Would have no hesitation in going there again, at anytime.
Had a lovely lunch, the fish was so fresh and beautifully cooked, the lobster Thermidor was amazing.
Good selection of wine and great service. We loved it.
An excellent meal with my husband. The smoked salmon was excellent with a lovely mustard sauce. My husband saw someone eating calamari but it wasn't on the menu or specials board, when he queried this our very helpful waitress went to the kitchen and came back to say the chef was very happy to cook a portion for him! We both had the paella for our main course which was really good. Would definitely make a return visit. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff.

Absolutely perfect and fantastic service by happy, smiley staff who can't do enough for you. By far the best restaurant in Oxfordshire! Can't wait to go back. Thank you Cuttlefish!
Love this place - great seafood and lunch specials. Friendly staff, highly recommended
Lovely food great service. Such a romantic place to dine
Excellent restaurant. If I’m ever back in Oxford I’ll be visiting again. Great food, staff and atmosphere
Good service with fabulous food at a very reasonable price. Will definitely go again. Highly recommended.
Had a lovely lunch on a Saturday away from all the crowds. The shared fish platter was amazing, fish cooked to perfection. Staff lovely. Can’t wait to return on our next trip to Oxford area
Don’t be put off by occasional negative reviews. Satisfied customers don’t usually consider reviewing. Three of us had a delicious well cooked hot evening meal this week. Staff are efficient friendly and professional. Table spacing is good so you can talk and hear your friends. Thank you.

Very nice place with a Mediterranean vibe if you are into fish. Their portions are hearty and I can highly recommend their fish soup and fritto misto. It’s perfect for both a date night or a night out with friends.
Black squid ink spaghetti with mixed
seafood is amazing! Loaded with various pump fresh-looking goodies. The sauce is tomatoey, gently garlicky, with a warm hint of spiciness, and perfectly coats the pasta. Lights up my day in the rainy weather. (Thanks for providing the spoon. I literally emptied my bowl with it. ❤️) One of the best-tasting pastas I’ve had in the UK so far. (Of course many handmade ones are lovely but this sauce is phenomenal.)
Oysters are fresh and burst with the flavor of sea.
Very warm and friendly service— carrying
the heavy blackboard of “today’s special” to my table!! The dishes came so fast that I didn’t even have the chance to open my book.
The comfort food menu! Probably one of the few reasons for me to want to move to Oxford (from Cambridge). Brunch menu also looks nice. I was attracted by the Oxford Blue cheese but I have decided what to order for lunch. Maybe next time. And the caviars! Next time next time.
It’s definitely worth hopping on the bus from city center and taking a stroll back.
A lovely restaurant near central Oxford- the staff were extremely kind and helpful, although the coffee was extremely slow to come.
The food is delicious and the fish is fresh and high quality. The prices are also fair, £22 for a large half lobster and delicious crab linguine is definitely not a bad deal!
We had lunch here. Seafood were fresh cooked in delicious way. Worth to go!
I had the mixed fish mixed grill with trout, sea bass, red mullet, prawns and squid with salsa verde and samphire. It was absolutely delicious.
Really nice restaurant with a varied menu. Has an accessible entrance but the loos will be hard to use for a wheelchair. Otherwise worth. Visit for the extensive fish menu and various cocktails and soft drink mixups.
Such a find, and will be coming back for sure. My husband and I fancied seafood and this didn't disappoint. Out eldest likes some seafood and enjoyed trying new things. For those who are not keen on fish or seafood, there are burgers and grilled meat with fires which our youngest enjoyed. We ordered the cold seafood platter, muscles in garlic and sizzling tiger prawns. All food was fresh and tasty and there was plenty. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a really relaxed atmosphere. Car park was behind restaraunt and convenient. Really enjoyable evening.
Excellent restaurant for seafood! We had mussels, oysters extremely fresh, pasta and fishcake!! If you’re a fun of oysters definitely recommend those, fresh from the sea!
Overall, tasty food in an informal setting with decent wine and a good selection of desserts. Quite pricey for what you're getting, especially as there's fish and chips every other street. Service was OK, although we did visit on a Saturday night with a full restaurant and several large parties.
The scallops were cooked very nicely, and the celeriac garnish was delicious. The crab bisque starter was fresh and crabby, and the calamari was nicely cooked and not greasy at all.
The fish and chips were good, but quite dry and don't come with any accompaniment unless you pay extra for the mushy peas. The batter wasn't greasy, and the fish was nicely cooked. The chips were thick cut and moreish. It lives up to what people say in other reviews, but you can get fish and chips that are 90% as good for half the price at a good local chippy.
There weren't too many vegetarian options, but in the end it is a fish restaurant.
To keep the cost down we didn't get a dessert, but there were lots in the display cabinet that looked very good.
CuttleFish is a good choice for fresh fish and a nice meal out, you can't go wrong unless you're a bit tight on budget.
Tried this place as it was one of top places to eat. Very friendly islam lady was on her own, yet managed very well, was attentive and knew what is there. We tried Mediterian fish soup, that was very tasty and a mixed fish grill, that was well done and fishes were great. Place has a lot of spaces, but as it was work day people must have been at work, so there were no crowds and we loved that. Thank you for feeding and looking after us!!!
Been here many times, food and service is always good. Their oyster is very fresh and juicy, fish and chips is very cripsy but not oily. Their mussel is lovely too.
Been there once, the squid was cooked too salty and the manager helped me to change another new one. It is lovely.
We used to love the seafood platter here however, we found out the platter is not very impressive compare to the one we have here before.
Food is decent, but a bit overpriced for what you get. Our waitress was not a good communicator -- and she took away our 5 pound bottle of sparkling water (with water still in it) and brought us another we didn't want or ask for. Weird.
Was visiting Oxford with family for Oxford U open day and was trying to find a place to eat in town. Did not have high expectations but was genuinely very happy eating here. The food was surprisingly very good, particularly the fritto misto the seafood was seasoned and fried to perfection. Service also amazing and the two servers were both friendly and extremely helpful. What a gem in Oxford.
