I was so glad to finally found this cafe inside the Covered Market where I can enjoy a traditional English breakfast set before I left Oxford. This is a lovely place with comfortable seatings, the lady at the cashier counter was friendly and cheerful and there were also some traditional goodies which I would love to try out if it's not because of time constraints. I like the breakfast set I ordered, it was of generous portion and it was tasty and satisfying. Do give it a try if you happen to be in Oxford. Location of the cafe is near the Market street entrance.

Had my lunch after a long queue, very popular place with a lot of tourist and local students, the food is very classical British, everything is great only my request changing the bean to tomatoes was rejected due to the kitchen is too busy. That is very confusing to me I thought cut tomatoes into piece is more easier than cook beans

If you are looking for a classic English breakfast place, this will be one of your best bets in town. The eatery is located in the covered market area of Oxford. The service was prompt and the staff were friendly and helpful.

I must admit that I became curious about the place after having seen it in a television series; once in Oxford I had to experiment. What a surprise to find that it has Portuguese touches in the decoration (clearly someone is a fan of Sporting football club) as well as in food - from the familiar pastel de nata, bolo de arroz (rice cake) and even pastéis de bacalhau (Portuguese cod fish cakes). If you aren’t a fan fear not as there is plenty of English dishes. I chose a mini English Breakfast for an early lunch and it was quite tasty. Good portion too, despite being mini. It is a pleasant establishment, inside the covered Market, very close to Market Street. You can’t miss it, there is a floating yellow teapot (and dormouse - remember Alice in Wonderland?) hanging from the rafters of the market just outside the entrance. It can become quite busy around lunch time. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I will certainly come back

Finally made it to this popular cafe! I live how historic this location is and the variety of traditional breakfast choices!! I love the sign stating that they try to get every item from other vendors in the covered market as well :)! The small breakfast was a good size but felt beans were a bit over powering. Having some mushrooms or choices of having both tomato and beans will make it even better. The tiffin was nice and the food came out quickly as well. Would have loved to try the apple pie but for the next time! Having two entrances could maybe help with some congestions in the entrance.

We came into the town centre looking for somewhere to have a breakfast. We found this place on Google and dropped in. Food was great and at a reasonable price. Staff were super friendly too and very attentive. Would return if in the area again. To note there are no highchairs which could be an issue with small children.

Brown's Cafe has been around since 1924 and is in Oxford's covered market. A great place for traditional breakfasts and a lot more. Seats inside and beside the shop window and a couple of tables outside. Order and pay at the counter first and they deliver to your table. Had a quality cappuccino; a properly made one with a proper taste. Would return.

Service was fast so it is good for a quick lunch. It is mainly fried food which is quick to cook. The fish was cooked to perfection and was served with a nice side salad

Good value traditional cafe with Portuguese flair. Coffee is great and we particularly like the Portuguese custard tarts (pastel de nata). Located just inside the entrance to the covered market, so in the heart of bustling Oxford.

Nice café in the covered marked in Oxford. The apple pie was delicious and everything else looked nice too. I had a scone with jam and cream. The jam was std. Hotel plastic cube but all in all it got the experience I expected.
