This restaurant has my heart. The atmosphere was just bombastic, natural and comfortable. I have never eaten such good potatoes and broccoli and the service was fabulous. Very nice people and personable they were too. Price wise it is fair to the food as the quality was excellent.

We visited Gees on 14/05/23 whilst visiting Oxford and loved it! The food was phenomenal and our waitress was brilliant, she was a little quirky in the best way possible. She was great at her job and made us feel special and at home. We thought she needed recognition for her customer service skills. The atmosphere was incredible and the lighting was perfect. We hope to return soon.

We had the seafood linguine and the fillet of hake. For desert the crème catalana and tiramisu. It was my friend’s birthday as well so they gave us free ice cream which was really nice of everyone. The food tasted incredible, even the side dishes on the plate had so much flavour since it has been seasoned so well. The hake fell apart beautifully and was throughly cooked as well as the seafood linguine . Desert was a treat and when paired with the ice cream, tasted even better. We arrived at the restaurant earlier than the time we booked online but staff were accommodating and provided us a table in the outdoor seating area and were attentive on turning on the heating for us. Overall a really positive experience, it can get quite busy hence we did feel at times it was hard to try and get the server’s attention but the food was amazing which made our night and we really enjoyed ourselves. We will happily come back again 😊

A very nice venue overall, very 'Oxford'. The lamb was delicious, as were the Ratatouille and Potatoe sides. - The Conservatory is large and beautiful, lots of tables - It can get very noisy in there (for better or worse) - The service staff are very attentive and conversational - We walked in on a Sunday evening and got a table, but expect this is somewhere that needs prior booking - Sitting areas clean and well kept - The food was good, if not on the tad pricier side

Had a lovely experience here on a Wednesday night. We arrived in the evening and we were shown straight to the table. Service was a bit slow to start but after being noticed they were a lot more engaging. My favourite course was the scallops. They were full of flavour and cooked to perfection Both mains (chicken & steak) were cooked beautifully and thoroughly enjoyed. If I was being SUPER picky, I would say that the peppercorn sauce could have done with being a bit more acidic. It was very peppery and that could just be my preference. Regardless, the wine was lovely and had a great atmosphere. Next time I come, I would like to try the cocktails because they did look good. Would recommend

Looked after about 15 of us for an 80th birthday lunch. Staff very helpful, food was good but not special. Whole experience was just right for the occasion. As an oldie I judged the prices excessive.... specially the wine price. However I didn't pick up the tab so all in all a great meal!

Sensational Mediterranean-style restaurant set in a conservatory. We went mid-week and it was busy so booking is essential. Impeccable service, food, drinks, and seating. We really enjoyed our time at Gees. Started with a Queen Bee (ginger liqueur, gin, lemon and honey) that slipped down very well and had a good sized gingery aftertaste. For starters, it was octopus cooked over a wood fire on a bed of lentils and carrot. Every layer was delicious and flavoursome. The octopus was perfectly cooked. Salmon fish cakes followed and these I found to be quality but totally filling. Not soaked in oil nor greasy and a just right portion size. Will definitely revisit.

Large restaurant in quieter part of town. Main seating in large conservatory but also nice garden area with awning. We were 3 adults and 2 children. The latter were given crayons and paper to use which they loved. All of us really enjoyed our meals. Only took one star away as my rigatoni and duck could have been hotter and no stirrer in my very nice sangria. Service was friendly and prompt Thought good value as we all had 2 courses, drinks and service charge brought meal total in under £200 which was a pleasant surprise for quality meal.
