Mission Burrito - Oxford, England. A quick stroll down King Street off the main road of High Street finds a quiet retreat (a fair number of these exist in Oxford). One popular fast food-esque place sits here called "Mission Burrito". With the ideal combination of quick and healthy (still fairly cheap as well) it is quite good and flavoursome.
Quirky is one way to describe the setting and interior of the place. Not going overboard with the Mexican idea - it used Mexican wrestler avatars to sell particular items which is cute and funny showing a far-from-serious demeanour to the eating challenges. On the counter there were corn chips with the different sauces of higher spiciness so customers could make sure that they were not making a mistake with ordering.
Aside from that it is essentially how a fast food place is set out.
Service is co-operative and attentive asking each aspect about the ordering systems. It was all really good and encouraging to dine there. No small aspect of the order is overlooked.
I got a couple of orders here - two burritos, both fajita tortillas one steak with chipotle sauce and jack cheese the other pork with verde sauce. One the side I got a Jaritos guava soda.
I quite like the sauce on my one, and noted that the filling was generous and took up most of the space inside. The sauce was quite spicy but still edible yet the steak was not the best to go with it - sometimes it was quite tough.
The pork in the other burrito was shredded and very nourishing. Combining it with the chipotle would have been a brilliant combination.
Jaritos is a Mexican brand of soda, and the one I got had a very good guava flavour in it.
For something relatively affordable but still of a decent quality and of fresh ingredients, I would go back to Mission Burrito.
Kinda like a subway burrito experience.
Lovely staff, if you get a loyalty card, it's dubble stamps on a Tuesday.
To be honest my favourite place in Oxford where always pop in when I'm around, got the pleasure to meet Zack and really made my day.
Truly recommend it!! Good job guys keep up you doing amazingly!
Lovely, good value, healthy burrito place that also does rice boxes for those who need to eat gluten-free. Has outdoor seating. Cheap and very cheerful, especially considering the location.
Was pleasantly surprised by the delicious offerings of this small chain. Tucked away on a quiet street in the city centre, offering a small but delicious offering of Tacos and Burritos.
I popped in to get something different from burgers to eat. I was met with cheery, helpful and informed service. More than happy to make suggestions and offer advice.
The food was good, despite my decision to go for the hot sauce. LOL. Just a warning, I tried the hot sauce first but when it's in a Burrito the heat builds up as you continue to eat.
Delicious food and generous toppings - tacos we're filled with guac, cream without any extra charge. Different salsa option if you like it spicy
Nice chicken taco's ! Friendly staff šš Definitely recommend this place if you are in the mexican food āļø
I have been coming here frequently for 13 years and never has it been as good as it has now, under the new manager. The food, I'm a veggie now, is my go to when in Oxford. The chef can really cook it up. Much kudos. The front of house staff too are just the friendliest they have ever been. A delight. Thank you.
Average priced burritos but the burritos themselves are above average, its hot and the food is never dry. Much better than Tortilla around the corner. They do a loyalty card as well
Mission accomplished. Very decent burrito bowls at very decent rates.
Iāve been eating at Mission for over a decade, and their burritos are still the best in Oxford. Ingredients are always delicious and fresh, and the taste is authentic to what most Americans know and love. Highly recommend.
Excellent burrito! Fresh ingredients, helpful staff and a really welcoming atmosphere. Feels less commercial than tortilla so will definitely be coming back!
Cozy little spot for a bite of lunch. The burrito was good, not great. Sat at the window bar and watch the people go by. University type shop for quick meal.
The OG spot in Oxford. My only complaint is that they donāt have one closer to where I live (A couple of counties away!). Never had a bad experience, absolutely the best burritos Iāve ever had. I have genuinely been over 50 times and canāt complain about the food on a single occasion. No where else comparesā¦
Amazing burritosšÆšÆ. You can get a filler burrito of all kinds at a very reasonable price. I tried the super hot salsa and it brought tears to my eyes, really š„š¢.. its a must try place especially in a hunger like when you ate nothing since morning coffee.š¤
Really good portion sizes, best for take away as limited seating out the front
