The Gridiron

I’m sad to say we did not have a good experience at all with our to go order. We where told to pick it up in 15 minutes. We went in to pick up our food 29 minutes later and where told our food was being bagged and was almost ready…… needless to say 55 minutes later our food was ready for pickup. Then we get out food and it’s all over the place in the togo box.

The esthetics were okay. I got the hamburger steak lunch special with onions and gravy on top with mac & cheese and "onion straws" sides. I do not recommend much of it. The gravy didn't even cover the surface of the hamburger patty, the onion straws were a tangled mass of burnt onions with thin breading(the waitress replaced them), and the macaroni and cheese was grainy and oily. The second batch of onion straws was not burnt but a tangled mass which i still don't recommend ordering. I also got a side salad which I DO recommend, but the ranch was very thin and the little sauce cups were only half filled. The staff were the highlight, they were very friendly and attentive(added an extra star for them!). After thought: the Sweet Tea wasn't very sweet.

We got the fifteen piece wing sampler basket. We chose three flavors. The wings were small and a bit dried out and tough. The dry rub was a good taste, a nice blend of spices. The lemon pepper, they did ask if we wanted them wet or dry and we chose dry, I would suggest wet because with the dry they just pile lemon pepper over dry wings and they are very grainy and tangy. The hot buffalo were just ok. The basket came with two pieces of celery, no chips, no fries. We should have checked the menu closer but most places at least have chips or offer a side if it is just wings, so our whole meal was fifteen wings. We left hungry. Two beers and 15 wings $20.00. I wasn’t impressed with the food. The restaurant was nice, it had a sports bar atmosphere, very roomy, clean restrooms. Staff was pleasant but never ask if we were pleased with our food or service.

It took us 10 mins to get a drink. We requested to sit inside but their AC was not working so we ended up sitting outside. The service wasn't exceptional and the food was just okay. I ordered the brisket which had way too much fat in it, I just didn't eat it. And my husband ordered a burger with blue cheese crumbs and they added blue cheese dressing instead.. Their reasoning was that they didn't have blue cheese crumbs... not too thrilled about this place.

We've been to this establishment three times since we've moved to the area. The 1st time there was a fight near our table, the 2nd was great and the third and last time there was a huge cockroach on the wall. We won't be back there for a while. Hopefully they clean it up and get staffing back to full, because they really need to make some changes. The management was very accommodating and made up for the fight by buying our food that 1st time. The last time was a complete mess though, our waitress was crying because the manager on duty said something to her and she'd had a bad experience with a previous customer, there was a huge bug on the wall and a few in the windows too. When we advised the manager of the bugs, she blamed it on the restaurant next door for spraying recently. Hmm, maybe something they should all consider doing at the same time in that area. 🤔
