24th Street Tavern

Was one of my favorite ho to places. Clean, friendly, still the same inside. Service was okay. Gave us menus, checked a couple minutes later stating she'd be right back buy disappeared for at least ten minutes. Food was prompt, server didn't check back. Their previously delicious hamburgers were now rather tasteless and dry although still cooked medium rare. Disappointed in the meat quality but that may be sign of the times. The price increase is standard for today's changes, more than enough to cover the increased cost if the meat at s good quality. Food quality is suffering, server not up to speed, even by comparison to other post covid changes in the industry. Since many places can't find enough staff for daily operations I can't complain too much except quality of hamburger. Their switch to pre formed (apparently) oversquezed standard patties isn't a good change. I really hate to give anything other than five stars to a local company but this time I have to. Better meat or different handling of the patties may help. I'll go back again when I'm ready to try again but I'm not rushing like I used to.
