Review Cotswold Merry Mouth Inn - Oxfordshire

A rare gem in the Cotswold. Food was excellent with traditional fresh home cooked food. Although not a big menu nice choice with sizeable portions. Professional and friendly service. Lovely location and comfortable clean rooms to stay for a night or weekend to get away and use as base to travel around the area. Highly recommended

Went to a great Blues night here. Great hospitality, but you need to get there early since they're popular. I didn't stay since I'm local, so I don't know about the rooms. That's the ONLY reason for 4 stars. Signed up for the loyalty scheme, so I'll be back to use the discount.

Stopped for lunch on the way back from a motorcycle trip to wales. A friendly welcome and tasty, good value lunch. Would recommend and will stop off again when in the area.

Stayed in the barn no 6. Great room and lovely to have a mini kitchen. Not sure I'd want to be there in winter given the huge gaps in the door, lol. One major issue for us was the bed... slats falling out of the frame, awful corners sticking out to bruise you, and the mattress meant you couldn't move an inch without waking the other person up. Ended up on the z bed! Left the bar to eat elsewhere when we saw the overdone batter on the fish probably nice, but v small meals for the price. Would definitely stay there again though! 👍

Lovely place friendly staff and really nice sunday roast you can tell it is quality. The kids menu was good too especially the homemade chicken nuggets and the play park kept the kids busy for ages. Plenty of free parking. We would happily recommend this pub

Popped in on the way home for lunch today. It was great to be away from the crowds in Stow on the Wold and Butford We had an enjoyable lunch sitting outside. Food was freshly prepared. Hosts were welcoming. Will definitely visit again

Really liked it here, very friendly owners and lovely food. Me and my OH stayed at an accommodation down the road but came here for a couple of evenings in September.

What an amazing venue!! We met here with friends who had been visiting from up north as it was a about half way for us both. there a limited menu due to Christmas but food was fantastic and staff couldn't of done more for us. We had 3 dogs so we're seated in a separate area which was decorated beautiful and sensibly to accommodate the dogs. My son who is autistic has some eating issues but these were all catered for and nothing was too much trouble! Thank you so so much, we will be back!!!

I live close by...have watched the progress of this pub coming back to life. . Today i went for a birthday treat with a few friends from out if the area. Really lovely staff, accommodated our every need, roast was amazing They also do a smaller portion on the menu which is a fab idea! My nan would have approved of that ! Fresh and tasty💜

My family and I spent last weekend visiting the Cotswolds from our home in Banbury. We stopped at The Merrymouth Inn by chance on the way to Stow on the Wold simply because we couldn’t park in Burford. The Inn is beautiful, the restaurant staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was high quality and not overpriced. The pork roast that I chose was only £15 and was huge. My children enjoyed their home-made nuggets and pasta. There is a really nice play area for young children and plenty of outside seating in the courtyard and on the lawns near the play area. The flowers and hanging baskets around the courtyard give the place a lovely ambience and everything looks well loved. The toilets were spotless which is always my bugbear so we will 100% visit again if we are passing. Thanks to Sarah our waitress for making us feel so welcome, we hope to be back soon.

We went here on a Saturday lunch time. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, very happy to tailor any items that they have on the menu to cater for what we wanted. (my daughter asked for plain cheesy pasta....and that was met with warmth and kindness.....and cheesy pasta she had!) They are dog friendly. The food was incredible (highly recommend the pies!) great value and a lovely clean bright atmosphere, even on a rainy day! Will definitely be returning!
