Review The Old Green Dragon - Oxton

Visited after a walk around Oxton. Lovely bar with a great selection of beers on tap. Excellent friendly staff serving and were able to sit outside and make the most of the warm weather. Food menu looked great but only had a drink but hope to return at some point to try the food.

Fantastic pub with a great selection of real ales kept in superb condition.

Very good selection of real ales. Choice of several meats and a nut roast for Sunday dinners, all very good. Only minor criticism (the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) was the roast potatoes could have been better. Fish and chips looked great! Overall though well worth a visit.

My brother , his wife and their dog were down from Liverpool, decided to bring them her as it is very dog friendly. The service, the food and the ambiance of the place was fabulous. I did however go home after devouring the sticky pudding feeling very full but not regretting it. Having only been for a drink before I'll definitely be back for a meal.

Stayed at a local campsite and the owners recommended this pub. Lovely friendly atmosphere and the food was excellent. The best Caesar salad I've had with the crispiest of bacon . The cheesecake with a twist(sponge based) was to die for. Great selection of ciders would definitely recommend 👌

Went here with family and our pet dog. It was lovely. Food great. Unfortunately we had t9 eat outside as everywhere was full. It was windy but we enjoyed ourselves. Will return soon.

We had an excellent meal here. The Sunday roast was delicious with proper crackling and Yorkshire puds. The homemade pies were thickly filled with quality meat and gravy. The service was good and they were very busy, as they had a large table of guests celebrating a lady's 80th birthday. We were impressed by the food, service and the lovely traditional welcoming pub atmosphere. We will definitely return. Thanks for a lovely dinner out.

Very nice, friendly pub. Beer was in tip top condition, food was lovely and the hound was given a little treat too! Very friendly staff. It's easy to see why it has won awards.

Great food. Good service and good value. We visited on Wednesday (pie night) which was an absolute bargain for a great slice of a pie followed by a delicious piece of cheescake. Not our first visit and won't be our last!

Friendly staff, good homemade food and good value.

1st time having Sunday dinner and it was very good. Good quality food well cooked at a reasonable price. We will be back soon

Fantastic food cooked to perfection starters mains and desserts 6 of us not one could fault a thing and a great price not like most places that charge extortionate prices for substandard food *******

A trip back in time to the village our grandparents lived in! Great lunch & a good range of drinks in a friendly atmosphere. You were great Geen Dragon!!

Great beer and brought us post bike ride chips despite the initially saying they had closed the kitchen.

The Old Green Dragon, it sets the standards others want to follow, a cracking range of beers, lagers, wines and spirits. A warm welcome, and the pub has a great atmosphere. The food is high quality local produce too.

Just had a meal here with my parents, husband and my 2 children (one of them slept through it in the pushchair) and I have to say it was the most delicious meal I’ve had in a long long time. We were made very welcome and the staff were lovely. Will definitely be visiting again �
