Olde worlde pub in the country. Good old fashioned pub grub at reasonable prices. Locals are very friendly always someone to talk to. Would definitely go again if in the area.
We was a party of 4 having a day out with mates from Essex and i wonted to show them is pub and show them the amazing history of the place and had a nice drink. Grate pub and long my it last.... see you again soon.
A little hidden gem, great food, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. It's like stepping back in time so authentic and allow dogs too.
Love the relaxed friendly atmosphere. Great beer. Great food and so welcoming to our running club team
A Cozy and friendly pub, which serves yummy food, but most importantly dog friendly!
My family & I love it here, very relaxed, great pub food & friendly staff! 😊
Beautiful. Fab food. Amazing service. So much more than a pub. We will be back x
We ate here Saturday afternoon with the whole family & it was lovely. The service was great and the food was beautiful! I had a ham and mustard baguette with salad and a side of chips. The ham was beautifully cooked & the chips were the best I've had In a long time! We had two very very hungry, very tired, inquisitive toddlers in our party & everyone was so patient with us, my eldest even managed to lock herself in the men's toilets! This is a child and doggy friendly pub, the way it's supposed to be. We all had a very enjoyable time here! Thank you for making our afternoon fab
Love it here great food, great service and lovely place to go for the whole family xxx
Friendly, good food, lovely place.
Loved finding the old den was completely unchanged! After 35 years, it was quite emotive cycling back to camp down the lanes - just like it was in June 1940 all cow parsley and meadow-sweet...
Could have done with a choice beer though!
Amazing place to o visit and enjoy a pint, as well. Strongly recommend!
A simple old fashioned boozer. No food ( crisps) but excellent beer and nice people. If you can find it well worth a visit

A great pub to have a drink in & in the countryside as well
We would like to say a huge thank you to Katie and her boss who recently opened the pub especially for us so that we were able to celebrate what would have been my father's 100th birthday. My grandparents were previous licencees of the pub and The Cat held a very special place in my Dad's heart. Thanks to Katie coming in on her day off we were able to spend a very special time showing our own grandchildren a little of their family history. Thank you thank you thank you.
What a fantastic public house with the most amazing history. This place wants to stay as it is forever. I can imagine the Battle of Britain pilots and ground crews in here and the photos on the wall bring it alive. Not immaculate and not meant to be. A fantastic atmosphere and piece of history.
Great pub, local ale, good food, lots of local history on display.
Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch time visit. a small pub out in the country stepped with RAF history being just down the road from the ex 2nd world war airfield lots to see and read if you have the time and can recommend the light lunch mixed ploughman's at £7 worth every penny . 2 good slices of gammon ham a big chunk of cheese mixed salad pickle and 2 thick slices of fresh cut bread and butter yum
What a great pub. The freshly home cooked food was amazing. I was only in the area for one night and had to be up early, which was a shame as I would have been more than happy spending the evening there, chatting with the very freindly landlord.
I cannot rate the food from this place highly enough. The fact that it gets so rammed on a Sunday lunchtime speaks for itself. Very well priced, and the portions are huge. Friendly and laid back atmosphere. Love it!
