amazing fresh local produce, superb flavours and menu choice, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere.
Fantastic food and a stunning location. Building is also very pretty and well maintained. Service started a bit iffy, I wanted to sit outside and there was only one other table occupied, I was very abruptly told I needed a table number, like I had just committed the greatest sin of the 21st century.
Excellent pub / restaurant
Are there on consecutive days. Good selection of beer and other drinks at the bar. Food was excellent- my favourite was the venison. The photo is the lamb

If you like snazzy this place is for you, or at least one of their rooms is for you. The outside and the entrance seating didn’t give the posh vibe at all. We reserved a table but we weren’t given the choice where to sit which is fine but to me it makes a big difference. I didn’t know enough about t

Fabulous food (you must try the whole Nidderdale trout), relaxed atmosphere but excellent service. Traditional Dales pub ambience, food prices are top end but wine is reasonable.
An excellent atmosphere in this lovely country pub. The food is varied and delicious. We just attended a 50th wedding anniversary there. They coped admirably with a party of 16, giving us good, friendly service. The range of food chosen was wide and all cooked to an excellent standard.
A great spot to break up a walk in lovely Nidderdale. A pint, a delicious sandwich, some fine chips and a refill of my water bottle was just the ticket and set me up perfectly for a stroll round the Gouthwaite reservoir.
Excellent variety of choices on the menu, Beautifully cooked. Very good service, clean and interesting decor. Plenty of parking.
