Review The Hope - Pembroke

What everyone wants from a pub. But shhhhh it's a secret! This eclectic Inn is a welcoming cosy multifaceted establishment. Let's start with the outside, and then I'll bring you inn (mind the pun ;) A long meandering green with benches, child's swings, and other equipment. Accessible from the bottom gate adjoining the commons, or you can come through the pub at the top end of town. This leads up to two or three terraces of tables and chairs where you can soak up the sun and enjoy the flower beds and hedgerows full of birds. A pleasing space to chill with friends and chat with visitors. As you come through from the garden, this bijou traditional pub has a pool table essential for the team! With cinema seats behind.. they're there because the large cinema screen is used for cinema club! Turning this area into a intimate curtained area. The dart board is well placed also. A very clever use of space with quirky decor and design to amuse. As you enter the bar area you'll find Dai the owner who sources local craft beers, larger, cider, spirits. Nuts, cakes, coffee! He really invests in the source locally ethos. Also in this area is the up to date jukebox, another TV, and a PlayStation to entertain the gamers. As you go through to the front of the pub there is a cute selfie wall of flowers for those who want to catch the moment. You then you enter the front longe decorated with books galore another big screen, dog bowls and treats! This place is just fab! Poetry club, history club, coffee mornings.. a real hub of the community. And the coffee is superb. Thanks, Dai. You've really created a little piece of excellence for all to enjoy.

This place will make you smile must be one of the smallest pubs in the World with the largest beer garden. We recommend to all our guests as a must visit. Just 5 min walk from “The Old Stables Pembroke” You will feel as if on an old movie set back in time!

A lovely experience here today. It's an absolute treasure trouve of a pub with a cinema and sprawling beer garden. Owner went out of his way to get the drinks we preferred. Recommended.

Dropped in for an early evening pint at the end of our week in Pembroke. An absolutely delightful place, cosy and quirky. Great beer, although no food. The front room had a lovely "parlour" feel to it, with pool table and cinema screen (yes, they actually have cinema nights) at the back. Will definitely be back should we find ourselves in Pembroke in the future.

Hunt this little pub out if you like quirky, original, friendly, it's even got it's own mini cinema some nights, the cider is great and the home made scotch eggs and pickled onions are amazing, the beer garden is huge, not many of these great little pubs left, fantastic!!

Wow another pub that's got the lot. These Pembroke pubs don't disappoint. Amazing beer garden with different bits to it it's bonkers. It's got a little cinema in here. Quirky, original and definitely recommended. They had a garden party when I was in and I sat in the tiny house and had a pint. Good Well kept ale too. Didn't note if they done food. Pop in here if you're in the area 🍻

Good pub. Quirky. Big screen projector for movies, a dartboard and pool table. Not too busy. Nice garden for the summer months too. Dai is a great landlord and host.

Small but perfectly formed, the Hope is a really friendly place to go for a drink and a chat... or a game of pool, or to watch a film. Highly recommended.

Excellent, As I travelled with a group of people, we all enjoyed the hospitality of the Bar man , who was kind and friendly and told us a little bit about the area, definitely a venture which will be continued, at a later date. 4 gold stars. Thanks very much, till next time, tarra for now.

Good tea and coffee and cakes not just alcohol on sale. Mondays the bar is turned into a cinema and shows 3 films at 2, 5 and 8pm. Tuesday a vintage film at 3. Free, you just buy drinks which he will bring to you while you are watching. Large rear bar and lovely little snug bar at front. Dave is a good landlord, considerate of his neighbours not just his customers. No noise and shouting outside the front of his pub unlike other pubs in town with landlords who don't care. Smoking only in designated area at rear. Well worth a visit, nice people.

So here's a pub. It says come in and find out what's inside. So we did. Narrow doorway opens to narrow bar and a blackboard describing ales. I'm already happy! I buy beer and whilst it's properly poured notice a tiny cinema. Yep. Go see. Is that a jar of pickled eggs? Yes. There's an upstairs seating 9. It's all yours if you bring friends. Poetry night? Yep. Coffee n cake in the morning? Aye. A garden? Kinda. Not important. This is a crush pub where you must say hello inside. Just go. Say hello. Drink ale. Talk to the next table. Bring your love and take some home with you.

One of my favourite pubs in Pembroke, bloke behind the bar is a nice guy, beers here are lovely. Would give it 5 stars, but it does get quite cramped, and the prices are quite high compared to elsewhere. Although, you don't get any drunk and idiots inside, which is a blessing on this street
