Visited on a Tuesday evening - booked for 6pm . Very busy throughout the evening as Tuesday is "Steak night" where Steaks are at a discounted price. Our table of 9 included 3 children & all but 2 ate from the A La Carte menu - lots of choice available, the majority of us choosing 2 courses only. We were all pleased with our meal choices as food is exceptionally good. When we asked for the bill, I noted that a Service charge had been added-not sure what percentage of our bill that was but it amounted to £28. As we had eaten from the A La Carte menu, I was able to use a voucher for 20% off food A very pleasant celebratory birthday meal was enjoyed by us all

Sunday Lunch with friends. Lovely relaxing pub restaurant. Started with a goats cheese on toasted bread with a beetroot puree and attractive balsamic drizzle. Cheese was the usual strong flavour what disappointed me was the no choice whether the toast was dry on the side it was placed underneath the cheese and absorbed the puree and balsamic liquid and was extremely soggy which personally I really did not like. Still I ate it as it was flavoursome and did not want to mention it at the time because we were celebrating a close friend 50th birthday and it was inappropriate. Chef made a wonderful flavour just the soggy bread was really unpleasant.... Main course beef with vegetables, some of the beef was tender some not so, cauliflower cheese lacked cheese flavour, Yorkshire nice in appearance just a little bland no seasoning with roast potatoes not well roasted and slightly light in colour. Gravy nice just not a lot of it. Had a sticky toffee pudding that was superb just that service brought it to the table and the ice cream accompanying it had already gone past solid and had turned almost liquid. Coukd have put the scoop on as they were leaving for the table. Just little corrections needed but definitely worth a visit and yes before it's mentioned its a whinge....we will return soon.

Came today for Sunday lunch at 2 courses for £20. The place is lovely and staff we could not fault. The only reason for 4 stars is they do not cater for dairy intolerant, so was unable to have a starter or a desert, but still paid the £20 for a main Sunday lunch. Food was lovely, was just a shame that you don't have any dairy free options. Also just to advise parking isn't great, as is really busy, so had to find somewhere else to park.

We have visited Ego at The Groes Wen Inn twice now, both for lunch. The first time we took the standard lunch menu, which was very affordable and delicious. The second time we opted for the two course lunch menu. This was absolutely exceptional! The food was amazing (top compliments to the chef). The service is also outstanding. The menu is extensive, lots of options for all. Well done team!

Excellent family meal last night. Food was excellent, lovely choice. My uncle is disabled and the staff were brilliant & so helpful as he had forgotten his blue badge. A special mention to our waitress Charlie, she was brilliant. We have been many times, last Christmas with friends and 2 weeks ago for Sunday lunch as we were on our way home from S Coast & couldn't resist calling in. Will definitely be back again.
