Lovely place to stay and eat, owners are friendly and the food is delicious. The accommodation was clean and tidy and perfect for what we needed. Best of all it is very dog friendly both in the pub and in the accommodation. Next time we are in the area we will definitely use again.

Ten of us ladies went for a meal. We had a little wait but as it is an extensive menu expected it all been refurbished since the last time I was in. The young girl serving was efficient and very polite.

Beautiful peaceful accommodation. Perfect beds and lining. Warm showers and heating. Had a great night's sleep. Lovely couple running the pub and accommodation. Gorgeous breakfast included. Really interesting interior of the pub-lots of memorabilia and stories. Focus on sustainability and supporting the local community. Nice walks from the pub and lots to see nearby by car too. Can get Busy in the evenings so get booked and possibly order meals ahead.

Out in the middle of nowhere so you need to drive and also have a recommendation - so here it is. Service great, food freshly cooked and scrumpy. Fine selection of beers and gins. We joined people also eating there as strangers and left as friends.

We had a warm, friendly welcome. Some of us joined bingo then we played some music and songs. A great night in a lovely pub. Thank you.

Stayed in the village for a week recently, had a drink in the Strickland Arms most nights, and had food a couple of nights, too. The food is great, with a varied menu. Freshly prepared, but even so, not a long time to wait. Good range of draft beers and ciders, which wasn't what I expected in such a remote location. Didn't stay here, so I can't comment on the rooms. Lovely country pub, looking forward to a return visit.

We stayed at The Strickland Arms over night in one of their cabins. The cabin was really comfortable and clean, with heating and lots of hot water. We ate our dinner and breakfast in the pub and both were really good. Lots of choice on the everning menu, pizza, pies, burgers. I had the chicken stroganoff with rice with was really tasty. Breakfast was also great, big portion and good quality. The cabin and pub were fully doggy friendly. Just be aware that you can't check in until 5pm.

Lovely country pub with friendly staff, local ales and absolutely fabulous food, especially the extensive menu for vegetarians. For once my Wife was spoilt for choice and really enjoyed the Chickpea & Bean Tagine. I had the Salmon which was cooked to perfection 😋

We stayed overnight for one night in our camper van - ate in the pub - food and service were excellent - great veggie options. Home cooked food at reasonable prices. The pies were amazing! Car park was mostly flat and toilets open till pub closed at 11 and open again at 8am. We used it as a stop off when travelling home from Scotland to the North West - it was fifteen mins off the motorway.

I checked into this delightfully quirky location today after a very long day filled with problems and seemingly endless driving. I was greeted by a young lady called Annabelle who instantly turned my grumpy frown upside down and made me feel extremely welcome. She showed me around the immaculate chalet I had booked and made sure everything was perfect before leaving. A warm welcome, a friendly smile, and genuinely wanting guests to feel welcome are attributes that you rarely find in bigger corporate and chain hotels. Thank you again for reminding why it’s important to keep on supporting local businesses! Adrian

We were here on our short stay in Penrith and the place was amazing. The food specially the meat pie was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes are also great. The staff was really friendly and gave us great suggestions. The ambiance is also great and all in all highly recommended!

Lovely little pub, quite small and can get busy around teatime. You can phone in advance and book a table for food. The food was very nice.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Fantastic find - such warm hospitality and most amazing ‘home’ cooked food using local ingredients - varied menu which would cater for all preferences.. Lovely spot not far from the M6 - well worth a short diversion & actually good to have a ‘proper ‘break away from the motorway We often stop in Teebay for evening meal when heading back to Scotland from the South — but we have a hen here … we will be back They also offer Bed & Breakfast
