I can't thank the staff at the bakery enough! We booked here for our baby shower and nothing was too much trouble, including catering for a gluten and dairy allergy! The afternoon tea was absolutely delicious with a huge choice of sandwiches, scones and cakes! A brilliant place to visit and we will definitely be back! Thankyou so much for everything! π 5 star!! Stopped on the way to get breakfast. Really relaxed atmosphere. Food was really good quality and portions big. Would happily choose to stop here again rather than a horrible service station.

Called in for breakfast yesterday and it was great. Pancakes perfect, full english left me full, and had to take a selection of home made cakes with us - highly recommended- we will be back

Called in late afternoon yesterday on our way home. Stopped off for a coffee and cake. Staff very friendly. Coffee and cake wonderful. Brought some Rye bread to bring home. Will definitely call in again if I'm in that area again.

Lovely place to stop after a long day out on the motorbike. The food was fantastic and the staff were really friendly. There was a thirty minute wait for hot food because it was quite busy when we arrived .But our cold food came out quickly so wasn't a problem.Seating inside and out and quite a few crafts and produce you can buy for gifts inside .Well worth a visit if your in the area!!!

This was a recommendation, and it didn't disappoint. I took my mother and daughter for a snacket and a cuppa. I had been told about the Corned Beef Pie, which I confess I will have to go back for now that I know the portion size!!! So I opted for the cheese scone, which was delicious and so crumbly fresh, with a lovely Earl Grey. My daughter opted for a slice of the most fabulous Blueberry & Lemon cake, of which I had a sample. Breakfasts and lunches were available. Those we saw looked of very good quality and generous portions. There was a good selection of drinks available too.
You could take away or have table service (or both, should the need arise as it did for me with the most amazing Brownie for the following days breakfast). There was ample seating indoors and out to choose from.
It was clean and fresh, and the tempting aromas were tantalising. The staff were friendly and helpful, not to mention patience whilst we tried to decide what to have. The facilities were well presented, accessible, and clean.
You can also pick up gifts of which there was a fabulous range, greetings cards, daily essentials, treats, fresh bread, and local produce. Perfect if you're staying nearby or passing through and don't want the hassle of finding a larger store or supermarket some miles away. We loved our treat, and I will definitely be going back to sample the pie!!!
So I made it back to try the Corned Beef Pie and was not disappointed. I chose a side of sweet potato fries, which were cooked to perfection. That was me literally fed for the day.
Had a lovely blueberry pancake and latte coffee today. We live locally and visit frequently because the food is very good and the staff are always helpful and kind. Thank you...
The Full English breakfast was the best that we had eaten. We travel quite a lot and good,cooked to perfection , tasty food not laden with salty bacon or peppery sausage, is hard to find. Everything on our plate was just right and beleive me we cleaned the plate.The staff we lovely and attentive. Had a takeaway Cherry and Almond Scone from their bakery for later, with jam and cream.....didn't want to share it! We will be going back as soon as we can. Top notch
Lovely little spot, not just a local shop for local people although lots of precious things to buy here. Terrific fresh bread. Great chocolate products, lots of great things for the home as well as preserves that I'm very much looking forward to trying out! See pictures for the range of products, also an upstairs clothes shop, great for the wanderers out there. Honestly nothing like this shop for miles around, so worth a visit if you're in the Melmerby or surrounding area. Great!
What a fabulous find! Welcoming and friendly staff. Very generous breakfast rolls using top notch ingredients at very reasonable prices. Absolutely delicious and superb coffee too. Highly recommended!!
We chose this by a random Google search. Talk about a gem in disguise ππ from the little shop, to the lush chocolates and into the cafe. The food was well made, well presented and reasonably priced. I had the fish goujon sarnie, my friend had the homemade quiche both were full of flavour. There is even a selection off gluten free and vegan cakes, now these had to be tried πππ The best part about this little gem was the atmosphere the staff created from the moment you walked in. You were made to feel welcome and at home, well worth the drive. We will definitely be there again

We visited twice on our stay in Melmerby the first we just had coffee and on the second we had lunch which we could not fault, the liver pate was excellent.
Great place, lovely and friendly staff. Definitely a must visit if anywhere in the area.
