Really pleased to see this pub open again , been a favourite of ours for 20 years or more . Wasn’t impressed by the ladies toilets and NO toilet paper whatsoever in two of the cubicles. No excuse for that folks , should be checked regularly , embarrassing if you are caught short to say the least. Drinks prices really good compared to other places. Heating was on , very warm and welcoming if not a bit too high ! Beer quality very good . Wine choice okay . There was an overwhelming air freshener smell that really wasn’t needed and made me keep coughing, please rethink that folks , my clothes stank of it when I left . I didn’t realise I was sat directly behind it . We will definitely be back and wish you well but felt we should let you know how we found it today X

We had lunch at The Dog today and would thoroughly recommend it. Absolutely delicious, the two burgers and pasta were so tasty and cooked perfectly. This place has a very talented chef, the waiting staff were also 10/10, we'll be going back very soon !

Lovely pub in a quiet village. Great views from the beer garden on a warm day. Bar staff were pleasant and friendly. I had the steak and ale pie which tasted great even though I’m not a fan of deconstructed meals and my wife had a steak sandwich which tasted good but came with skinny fries rather than the advertised skin on fries. For dessert I had some chocolate magnum thing. Well presented and not quite what I’d expected but lovely. My wife had the crumble which was hot in the middle but not all the way through and came with a jug of just warm custard. Tasted good though. I would still recommend as somewhere to go and eat.

Gorgeous location where you can sit and view for miles and miles. The restaurant part is really nice and the food is freshly made from a small select menu. Then the pub part is much more rustic where dogs are welcome. Great pub.

Boring coronavirus bit: Very reassuring; wait to be seated and hand sanitiser at the door with a one-way system. The location and views are stunning, pub nice and clean and the staff friendly and at least outwardly clean! Excellent menu and one of the best fillet steaks I've ever had. I was driving so can't comment on the booze selection:( Plenty of tables outside and in.

Second visit to eat but first since the new menu was introduced. The difficulty was choosing what to have as I loved the sound of most of the options. I was not disappointed with my choices of prawn starter, lamb main and pannacotta dessert. I love that each dish has been so thoughtfully put together and is a joy to eat. The restaurant is a lovely space to eat and relax and the staff are efficient and very friendly. Well worth a visit.

Excellent food and service. We had pie of the day which turned out to be Steak and Pancetta, Mash and minted peas. It was beautiful and very tasty. Partnered with a Pint of Ale - just what you need with this cold, frosty weather!

Fantastic food! I had one of the best burgers I have ever had here and the mousse for pudding was the perfect end to the night. Beautiful presentation and great, fresh flavours. Very well priced for the quality of the food. The atmosphere was warm and staff were very friendly. Will definitely be returning.

My family came in for a roast dinner, booked this afternoon on a whim. It was amazing. Really beautiful food, very plentiful. We did have our young daughter with us and although the menu didn’t cater for small people, she shared ours and we all had lots, and after she accidentally knocked her drink over it was immediately replaced and staff helped clean up. Staff were pulling faces with my daughter and really accommodating and kind. The view from the garden is BEAUTIFUL.

Haven't eaten here for a while we mainly just call in for a drink but it's a lovely place, very dog and people friendly with a nice fire. Bar staff are nice too
