The Ancient Briton - Penycae - Photo album

We stopped in here after a visit to the local caves. Stopped on the off chance we could get a table and we did. The staff went out of their way to put two tables together to accommodate us for lunch. Wow, what an amazing lunch we had. We honesty haven’t had a meal of such quality and taste for a lon
Had a lovely meal. Haven't been here for approximately 6 years. Able to take dog. Table service. Nice menu selection with vegan options. There is a fabulous beer garden with an outside food van. Ample parking.
Visited for a family meal (3 generations) and all enjoyed our food. Not cheap but generous portions and all excellent. Nice selection of ales for me and my son. Service pretty good considering how busy the servers were. Would recommend and will visit again.
Had a family meal for my sisters birthday. The evening meal was fabulous for all 8 of us. Myself and my husband stayed over night. The room was lovely and comfortable the mountain view was great. Breakfast the following morning 10 out of 10. Many thanks to all the staff.
We stopped at The Ancient Briton while looking for somewhere for lunch. We just happened to be driving past so stopped, turned round and went in. We checked and dogs are welcome in the bar area (we had our dog with us). The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was lovely. Goo
We stayed one night. Room looked good, power went a bit up and down. Likely power from a generator. Pub below was a bit noisy at night, but stopped at a decent time. Right next to the road. As it was warm, windows where open, and the noise comming from passing motorcycle where overwelming. Other tha
Nice pub with a great selection of real ale and cider. Nice atmosphere. We only popped in for drinks, so I can't comment on the food or the accommodation. Would definitely visit again.
We visited on a very busy Saturday evening and fortunately we had booked a table. The staff were amazing, we were never left waiting for anything even though the pub was chocker. Absolutely fantastic service and the food/beer was great too!
The food was lovely, both me and my wife tried the steak (ribeye and rump). My ribeye was topped with Stilton as per the pic. It was cooked to perfection. Service was also great. The bar area was lively with the feeling of a friendly village local pub and the seating was far enough away so it was un
Not eaten here yet but the food on other tables looked and smelt amazing! We shall return for food! We sat on a bench outside which was beautiful, especially with the scenery! Inside the pub is a beautiful restaurant and the staff are lovely! Can't wait to return!
The BEST roast dinner we have EVER had. I Strongly recommend this beautiful pub nestled close to the Brecon beacons national Park. The staff were very polite and friendly, if I could give it a 10 star ⭐ rating I would. Book first though.
Booked the camp site because of restaurant's good reputation. Well deserved. You can eat well on pie night for under £30 for two.
I love this pub, the food is always amazing. We pop in every time we're in Wales and enjoy the atmosphere. The staff are always so friendly and happy. Just the nicest little pub.
We had a one night stay here in April 2023 for my wife’s birthday weekend spent walking in the Brecon Beacons. We enjoyed a double room (room 1) with a Mountain View, dinner on a Friday night in the restaurant area and a traditional Welsh breakfast on a Saturday morning. The room was well appointed,
