I can honestly say that the quality of the Fish + Chips is great.
A piece of fish that you can get your teeth into unlike the fried Panty liners that you sometimes find in other establishments. The service is efficient and friendly with good portions for your money. Cooked to order so you won't get anything that has been leftover from lunchtime. A good even golden color with light batter.
You can even eat in the dining area if you wish to experience the true Pirates Rest ambiance with bread and butter. give it a go!

Won't have fish and chips from any where else, travel 300 miles for Robs fish and chips well worth. Always receive a warm welcome and excellent customer service.

Walked all over Penzance looking for fish and chips and ended up at the Pirates rest. So glad we did. What amazing fish and chips! The staff were lovely, friendly, attentive, wonderful! The food was brilliant! Had to have the cod and chips with mushy peas. The fish was great. Seamed really fresh and cooked to perfection. Chips also were perfectly done. The mushy peas though. Wow. Best I’ve ever had.
My daughter had the scampi and chips from the children’s menu and all the portions were generous. It was help yourself to drinks and pay afterwards.
We ate in as they had a lovely seated area in the back of the shop.
Obviously people know how good this place is as it was very busy for people taking out. Well worth the visit and I will be back when I get the opportunity.

Best fish and chips in Penzance!!! Infact best we have had ever in a long time. Absolutely beautiful knocks spots of others definitely highly recommended and a good price as well.

Highly recommended fish and chips! Delicious. Enormous portions so even tho quite pricey for a chippy you can split a portion in two and still feel full.
Some of the best fish and chips I’ve had in the UK, the chips were very high quality and the fish was tasty and crunchy. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

What a fun place to stop by and pick up dinner. We grabbed some chips here on a camping holiday. Yummy cheesy chips, very friendly staff. Thanks. Also you can pick up a jar of local jam too!
Always found the Pirates Rest fish and chips to be excellent quality and it's for this reason we always call when we are in Penzance, prices aren't cheap and I would recommend that you check out the prices displayed in the window to check if that's what you are prepared to pay.
We'd heard it was the best in the area and it really delivered, the scampi was the star of the show.
