I’ve been going here at Easter time since I was very young. Every time it feels warm and welcoming. The new owners are doing a great job and should be praised so. Still great portions on the plate and a great atmosphere. Wonderful place

Yet another visit here, just can't keep away. Service from the moment we entered until leaving was again exactly as it should be, friendly, polite, warm, welcoming and prompt. The food was hot, very tasty and the portions generous. The Mead was flowing with first time visitors trying a few different flavours whilst those of us who had been before were quickly into our favourite flavours. Whilst cutlery can be asked for and used when we go we save on the washing up (apart from desert) it all adds to the atmosphere and experience that this setting gives. The first time visitors in our group of 8 said that they loved it and thought the food, setting and atmosphere was great and would recommend it to friends and family when they come to Cornwall. Those of us who had been before agreed we were not disappointed could find not fault and would definitely be back. I would suggest anyone thinking of going call and make a reservation as it does get booked up. Whilst I have never not been able to park it can be a little tight if really busy.

Good quality, choise of portion size. Home made coldslaw, you can tell. Lovely quirky place. Staff are lovely, make you feel welcome. Good parking. They even do take away.

What a fab find! Pre-booked a table 2 weeks ahead of holiday and so pleased we did. This meadery is set in an old Chapel and kept all of the features. All lit by candlelight and kept old Chapel seats. Great atmosphere - would be great to have a medieval night here! Service was fab and owner very attentive. 3 of us had the chicken in the rough which was delicious but very filling...may just go for the quarter next time 🙄 Had a "proper" prawn cocktail for starter just like we have them at Christmas from the 80's. Simple but gorgeous food cooked well. Tried some mead which was lovely...recommended the blackberry which was like a desert wine. Parking a bit tricky as you're in a tiny cornish village but the owner let us park at her sisters place! Thank you to all. Great evening!

Wow! What a lovely place to eat. My wife and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary here tonight, and we both loved it. Such a lovely atmosphere, with a really friendly owner and staff. The food was rustic, tasty hot, and served really quickly. We have never tried mead before, so the owner let is try a couple of flavours first, then we ordered a carafe of the cherry mead. It was delicious! So I bought a bottle to take home 😋 It's such a shame we aren't local, because I'd love to visit more often! So in short, I highly recommend this place for a lovely meal.

Ate here for my sister's birthday and we all loved the authentic meadery experience. It was pretty busy but we booked a table. The food came out promptly and the staff were all lovely, helpful and attentive. Will definitely be going back in the future and can highly recommend for a great evening out.

Unique experience. Food and service were great, however found the room a bit dark for reading the menu. I understand this is intentional but not for me...sorry

Wasn't sure what to expect but it was an experience! Medieval theme even down to pulling your chicken to pieces with you fingers! Good portion and reasonably priced. If you suffer with your back would suggest you ask for a table with proper chairs as we found the "pews" very uncomfortable.

Great dining experience. I have visited on many occasions over the years, you are greeted by friendly staff. It has a lovely unusual interior and the food is excellent, you must try the breaded mushrooms, spare ribs and chicken and of course the Mead.
