A small place yet so lovely. Very good ambience for family dinner or lunch, the sashimi plate is one of the best, very fresh and delicious. I had the beef teriyaki which taste very good and my bf got a seafood platter, i forgot the name but surely it’s really delicious. Very recommended for you who wants to eat Japanese food in town 😋

My favorite sushi restaurant! I have eaten sushi in many countries and Shige is in a different class, the quality of food matches even the best London restaurants, and the fact it is a small family run business gives a more personal experience. Perth is very lucky to have a restaurant of this caliber and it was a refreshing change to some of the other lower quality places I have tried in Perth. The standout dishes for me are the sashimi platter which is amazingly fresh local produce hand selected by the chef (the squid and tuna are to die for) and the pork tonkatsu is absolutely delicious. This food goes amazingly well with a nice plum wine. This place is my favorite restaurant and the family are very warm and welcoming every time we go. Highly recommended!!

I’ve been here a couple of times, though it’s rather overpriced the food is decent. The customer service is terrible. I was watching the chef make his sushi, and he told me that I was “annoying” to my face for no reason. The chef is always rude though I complimented his food is good. Would not recommend anyone coming here. Horrible service and was a disheartening dinner!

Shige Restaurant is beautiful. Small joint run by a Japanese family with attentive service and charming chef. Chef Shige's sushi and sashimi platters is the holy grail, made by great skill honoring the ways of how it is done back in Japan. The carefully selected fish by itself or with the sushi rice results in the delicious dispersion of the combined flavours in the mouth. The menu is authentically varied and is built upon for a sharing experience or even for single diners. The selection of Agedashi, Chawanmushi and Seaweed Salad as a starter before moving onto the Sushi or Sashimi Platter along with the Tonkatsu Cutlet is a good guide of mine but Chef Shige and family are always there for the better recommendation that fits your appetite on the night. A purely authentic Japanese experience unlike any others in Perth.
