Ordered Uber eats two nights in a row here and they had missing items and utensils each time. Loved the Japanese cake and dessert selection which had me try the first and second time. The food was good. Probably best to dine in instead of ordering delivery.

A rare opportunity to try Japanese Halal food. The staff confirmed with us the meat is from sources. The Teriyaki Chicken that came with the Rice box was amazing. The Ramen was served in big bowls. The Octopus balls we tried as a starter tasted great. Nicely made Japanese food.

A cosy restaurant in the heart of Northbridge that offers a selection of comforting meals at an extremely affordable price.
After one trip months ago on a whim this place has fast become my partner and I's regular main spot for tasty, authentic Japanese meals.
Quite possibly one of the only places that delivers a delicious Teriyaki Unagi Donburi with all the texture and flavour you could want in a reasonable time.
No table service, but tables have QR codes for remote ordering or you can order at the register. Menu (mainly sushi) is subject to change in availability due to staffing but that cannot be helped.
If you live local, best bet's to order take-away using the same site. Get in early because online orders for this place almost never seem to stop.
Highly recommended to friends and strangers alike!

I had the chicken Katsu bento box set which was great. But my partner had some kind of noodle which he couldn’t eat so he ended up eating mine. The staff was not really friendly and seemed very unbothered.

Average at best. The teriyaki chicken donburi was mostly flavorless and certainly what flavor there was was almost like a watered-down version of teriyaki.
It seems from the other reviews this place can be hit and miss on certain nights.

Chanced by this place whilst craving Japanese food and expected it to be like the Shimizu at Watertown, which is good food. But we were blown away by how amazing the food was here. Service was slow but the lady kept us updated and it was worth the wait! We had the yakitori, donburi karaage chicken and beef teppan, all cooked to perfection.

Shimizu may look like your usual Japanese restaurant, but it is quite the opposite! Situated in the heart of William Street, Northbridge, this cozy restaurant offers a special twist to modern Japanese dishes.
We ordered the Teriyaki Salmon Bento, and sides of Giant Potato Fry, Croquettes and a healthy Tonic Miso soup. When our dish arrived, our expectations continued to be exceeded. I have never seen Sweet Potato Chips so BIG!
This place is ideal to satisfy your Japanese cravings, group dinner or just a casual date night.
