Hoopla Espresso

Coffee decent but not great. Like the efficient service, there is just a little something missing. Its strange what taste passion has in food and it is definitely an esoteric thing but is what makes a cafe great rather than very good. The job gets done and gets done quickly with no fuss but there is no eye contact on takeaway coffee pickups, and the breakfast wraps are 'takeaway only' - no budging. I haven't encountered that before and I was taken aback. If someone is willing to pay a dine-in price for something, why not sell it? Would I come back to this very good cafe? Probably not, purely because there is a Great cafe just down the road.

What a great little place. They got broken into last night, so they have a new number. It’s quiet, with an obvious loyal following. You don’t stay in business for 11 years in a little out of the way place like this without serving great coffees, breakfasts and lunches. Muffins and cakes look beautiful as well. ☕️ 🧁 🍰

I've had takeaway more than a few times here recently while at the nearby park. The food can be good but the experience is offset by waiting times (quite a wait today for pre-made cabinet food despite lots of people behind the counter and no one in front of me. I've stopped ordering takeaway drinks because coffees take forever). Also didn't expect a takeaway sausage roll to come with a full salad that I didn't want to eat or pay for. Maybe they've had some hard times during covid so hoping they work on improving things because staff are friendly and it's in a good location.
