Was staying in Peterborough for the night and was recommended this place by a work colleague. I had the Mango Chicken and Dirty fries with Chorizo, both meals were very nice and i would definitely come back next time i am in the area. The server was very friendly and made us feel welcome.
Finally, found a Caribbean restaurant with beautifully seasoned food and not packed with scotch bonnet! The host was absolutely lovely, we had the seafood starter which was bursting with flavour and i had the lamb chops whilst my husband had the jerk chicken. The portions were great. Will definitely go back. We also had a few cocktails which were very nice.
Girl's night out for the Jerk Riddims event. Beautiful food, good prices and fantastic portions. We'll be back with families next time! Thanks for having us :)
Just had a delicious meal at Embe Soul Food, Peterborough. Can't recommend highly enough. I had the chicken and prawn jambalaya, my friend had the veggie jambalaya, we had a good bottle of red and shared a pudding of Jamaican Trifle. Everything delicious. Pricing good. Staff wonderful. Highly recommend.

Insanely good food, it was quiet and we were the only ones there upon arrival and for most of our visit which is sad only because it deserves to be packed every night!
We had the jerk sharing platter which I would highly recommend and was the perfect amount of food for two people! Drinks also great at 2 cocktails for £12. Super flavourful, super yum.

Service was 10/10; very attentive and friendly.
Chicken wings were 3/10; lacks freshness, over microwaved, and very small portion.
Curry goat was 9/10; very fragrant, fresh, and tasty.
Rice n peas 4/10; very dry and there were no peas.

Amazing vibes!
I love this place. The atmosphere is fantastic - the colours, the classic jazz at the perfect volume, the lighting, the whole vibe is spot on. I met the owner while I was there, and you can just feel the love he has for the restaurant and the food. They even have a full vegan menu, red stripe on draught, and the food itself is really delicious. My only criticism (if you can even call it that) is that for somewhere that sell "soul food", the dishes seem more "chef-y" or "gastric" than "big warm bowl of home-cooking" that I associate with the idea of soul food. The portions are beautifully plated, but smaller than expected for the price. Overall, I came in expecting a casual fill-your-tummy-with-a-big-bowl-of-grandmas-cooking kind of experience and ended up with a casual delicious-food-beautifully-made experience. If the portions were heartier (or at a lower price point), I would stop in every chance I got. As it is, I'll certainly be back, but more for a special meal out than a regular place. Either way, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is perfect.
Food was nice and tasty. Definitely would recommend them. If you like spicy ask them to use jerk sauce. We had chicken wings along with pizza. Pizza was also good. They also have good drinks available. Definitely try them out if you want carriabean or spicy food.
Chef had come out when he had time to talk to you which was nice as compared to other restaurants.
Good experience all around. The restaurant was decorated really well and had a fun vibe. The staff was really friendly and attentive but our food took just at an hour to come out. Being a small place, it was relatively busy however the upstairs seating was completely empty. When we did get the food, though, it was fantastic! Great, fresh flavors and unique pairings. The jambalaya was amazing and the drinks were made strong 👍🏼 we’ll definitely be back when their full menu is out.
