Wee Wok Express

Recently, I don’t know what has been going on with the restaurant but they’ve been messing up my orders. This evening i ordered combo 11 (chicken fried rice, sweet and sour chicken balls and honey garlic spareribs) my order came without the ribs and I can’t even contact the restaurant. Really disappointed

I wish I knew what's happened to this once wonderful take out restaurant. Wee Wok was heads and shoulders above other Chinese restaurants in the Peterborough area but something has gone terribly wrong. I called in my dinner order at just after noon on a Friday only to be told that they had no scallops. One would think they could go out and get some given that I wasn't going to pick up my order for almost six hours. When I finally got home the food was still hot which was lovely but the calamari in black bean garlic sauce was a mess and had leaked all over the bag. The shrimp w/vegetables and almonds was bland as were the vegetable spring rolls. In the end the food just wasn't up to their former glory of "can't beat the taste" cuisine that I'd come to expect. Very disappointing. It's highly unlikely I would go there again.

Very disappointed. This used to me my "go to" location for Chinese food when in Peterborough. They have changed... and not in a good way. On my second to last visit (which I did not review) the egg rolls and spring rolls tasted like they dropped the pepper container in the mix. I'm not exaggerating either. Fortunately I am a fan of pepper but I cannot say the same for the other family members. On my most recent visit... The General Tao was mostly veggies (crisp just how I'd want them) but VERY LITTLE actual chicken. Their General Tao sauce was also like I had never tasted before. The General certainly would not have approved! -5 stars for that dish. The Pepper Steak (unlike the eggrolls on an earlier visit) was completely lacking in pepper. The steak was in chunks (normally in thin strips) and was very tough. Just as with the GT, the veggie to meat ratio was 90/10. Also very disappointing. The chicken balls were excellent as were the eggrolls and spring rolls (clearly they ran out of pepper...lol). It pains me to drop my rating from an earlier 5 star down to a 2 star but they leave me no choice. #bebetter #wontbeback
