Couldn’t fault it! Staff were amazing, friendly and accommodating, especially friendly and fun with my daughter. The young lad that served us was very informative and gave brilliant service. Food was great at an amazing price. 2 courses after 5pm Monday to Friday for £14.95 (something like that). Location just off the motorway and easy to get too. Thank you!

We had a brilliant meal here with amazing service (thanks Louise!) and excellent food. It was a Friday night so the restaurant was busy but that didn't stop speedy service, with drinks order being taken within 5 minutes of sitting down and food orders taken not long after. We had made a specific request for a quiet table and Louise checked immediately if the table they had allocated was going to be suitable for our son. Food was all excellent and service overall brilliant.

We arrived knowing we were between the breakfast and Lunch menu times but were on a long journey so sitting down for a drink before we ordered lunch was all part of the plan, and we know what to expect from a beefeater. We were met with an attitude from a young female bartender who I can only assume was at the end of a difficult shift, a sharp 'what do you want!?' and a face that looked like it wanted to not me around people made me think we were in for a bad experience.
Thankfully the food was as expected, the other staff were delightful. On the whole, pleasant. We won't think twice about stopping here again.
Food, was just the Beefeater standard we expected.

Service was great from Karen who was very friendly and didn’t make us feel rushed in any way.
Food was delicious! I had the steak sampler, BF had the ribeye. All steaks were cooked exactly as we’d asked for and were very tasty. The chunky chips were perfect; crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside.
Then we finished off with apple pie and custard for me and Cadbury’s crunchier cheesecake for my BF. Mine was very nice, nothing magnificent, but a decent apple pie. BF wasn’t even going to have dessert but couldn’t resist the cheesecake, which was devoured in minutes and was apparently well worth having.
And to top it off, they give discount to Blue Light Card holders which is a pleasant bonus!

My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and decided to have lunch at this lovely place. Our waiter George was simply wonderful. He showed us the best spot in the restaurant area, provided the allergies information and checked that my choices from the menu were acceptable for my needs. I had a mouthwatering salmon salad and a delicious vegan ice-cream and fruit sorbet for dessert. At the end we were given a Happy anniversary card with a small box of chocolates. All in all a very nice experience and I highly recommend this place to anybody reading this comment.

Normally grab a McDonald's on route to family in Kent but decided to have a proper sit down breakfast at Great Oak instead. What a great decision that was too! Tasty food and plenty of it. My toddler grandson had so much choice of cold and hot selection that he couldn't decide what to eat first and what order to eat it in! Great service from the staff too, friendly and helpful throughout our visit. Obviously the food took a bit longer than a Mac breakfast but actually cost wise there wasnt much difference, especially as grandson was free! Well done Great Oak. Trouble is the wife will expect a great oak breakfast every time we do the same trip now! 🤣

Darcy was our server. She was friendly and efficient. Our meals were hot and came out timely We just had the 2 course menu midweek which is such good value.
We have been here a number of times as it’s always if a good standard.
The decor /seating etc is very comfortable

For a traditional meat establishment I think Beefeater does a good job in providing several, tasty vegan options. 20 years ago I would have probably bought a steak here, and so it is positive that I can still enjoy a meal here. Server Maxine was excellent.

Went for a late lunch here today with some family.
Service was very good (quick, but not rushed) and each staff member we spoke to was polite, accommodating to whatever we needed and looked generally pleased to be there. They also asked about allergies/intolerances as soon as we arrived.
The food was excellent, as we've come to learn from Beefeater. Steaks were cooked exactly as requested and the pulled beef extra on the side of my ribs was something else... Could have had a whole plate of that!
Definitely recommend coming here... Will certainly be going back 👍

Stayed in the hotel attached and ate in the pub for 2 evenings. Very friendly staff especially server Emilia. Attentive and made me feel welcome. Decent food served very prompt. Nice atmosphere to dine in.

A busy restaurant adjacent to the motorway and a hotel. Nevertheless, the food was well prepared and tasty, and service impeccable. One slight error with the order was dealt with immediately and graciously. Louise is an excellent server and great credit to the restaurant.

Super service. I had tailor made meal which was delicious and exactly what I wanted . All 4 of us agreed that we enjoyed our choices and that the serving staff were excellent. Will definitely be back.

Had a fantastic,tasty,starter and main each at the Great Oak on Saturday.Offer of 2 courses for £15 ! Prawn cocktail followed by rack of ribs that fell off the bone.Considering the rib meal was £17.99 on the menu it was brilliant value.Including a free bottle of wine as we had converted reward points.Our favourite restaurant locally by far.Excellent service and atmosphere too.

Nice restaurant, very convenient by the motorway. The staff is very helpful and polite, the food was very nice. We are both vegans and it was so nice to see that they have a full page of vegetarian and vegan food for us.

If I could put zero stars i would of too. Dreadful service from the start. This was our 1st visit here and never to return . We had to ask someone to take our order , chef forgot our 1 starter and then an hour and half later still no mains . Spoke to manager and we just got sorry which wasn't enough so we decided to leave without eating. We should of got our drinks for free.

What a terrible visit we have just had. On the way back from a family day out we popped in for our treat dinner (2x adults, 2xkids).
After around 15-20 minutes of being ignored we had our order taken by a scruffy boy who was disinterested and very unprofessional. We placed our drinks and food order at the same time. It took a further 10-15 for the drinks to arrive at the table, 1 of which was served incorrectly. It was requested that there was no ice or a slice however the Pepsi max had a few slices of lime in it, the boy who dropped them off said something about a 2 on the dispense ticket but he didn’t know what that meant. The drink was taken away when asked if we could have a fresh pepsi max with no ice or a slice, when returned it was quite clear that he had just scoped the lime slices out as there was still pulp floating in the drink.
We then asked a different server to get the drink changed to a fresh one which took another 10 minutes and arrived after the starters where served. This took 3 servers to get a drink right, we also heard out initial server whine to one of his colleagues to drop of the drink as he said ‘she had a go at me about the drink’ which is not nice to hear following a simple request.
The starters where okay, a bit slow to come out, no check back and took an age to remove the dirty plates which we had piled at the end or the table.
We had noticed that the boy who was our server was enjoying his conversations with the other staff at the bar, which is where he spent the majority of his time.
Once our main meals came out 2x surf and turf combos and 2x kids meals we where very ready, it had been some time. All of the seafood on this treat of a meal had been over cooked and served cold. It is a skill that can only be mastered with a certain level of ignorance.
And my blue steak had been over cooked to almost medium on one side and then momentarily wiped on the grill on the other side.
Once again no check back was carried out.
As we where hungry and we had our kids with us we ate and chased someone down for the bill. Once again plates where stacked whilst we waited and not a single question in regard to our meal was asked (pretty much the most important part of his job).
The bill was then landed on our table only for myself to find him 10 minutes later at the bar chatting away with around 6-7 members of staff.
I asked if I could pay my bill and the crowd dispersed (manager included).
During the payment process at the till at the bar the only thing that was said to me by the 2 boys at the till was ‘oh you are paying by card’.
This has been the worst service I have ever received, and some very mediocre meals to back it up.
The lad with the tattoos on his hands (our initial server) really needs to adjust his attitude as he is embarrassing the company, and the bar staff need to be able to understand tickets and not just scoop out the lime of a drink then re-serve.
*Following this complaint through the customer relations department I was offered a ‘good will voucher’ to the sum of £20. I responded that I did not feel that this was an adequate compensation for this visit and in fact we should receive a refund of our bill. My request was dismissed and the £20 goodwill voucher stands.
