Dropped in on the off-chance this morning for breakfast when the place we'd planned to visit was too busy - I'm so glad it was!
We were welcomed and seated quickly and quietly and our coffee order was taken while we chose from the menu. There was a nice choice of breakfast and the chef made adjustments for me as I am dairy free. The food was great - as a "Full English" it was once of the smaller ones but the quality was so good it really didn't matter. Every aspect of the food was fabulous, the bacon, sausage and egg were all first rate you could tell this was a restaurant serving breakfast not just a run of the mill cafe. The bacon was thick and flavoursome, the sausage had a great texture and the egg was golden and creamy - and all perfectly cooked too! We also had an avocado and egg on ciabatta which was fantastic too. A special mention also for the coffee which was one of the best I have had, a great balance between a savoury strong but not bitter coffee with creamy oat milk.
Although not cheap, it was well in line with what I would expect to pay for a good brunch which with excellent quality, service and ambience - couldn't really have been any better!
Great little find in the heart of Petersfield. Offering a nice menu with plenty of locally sourced products. Great food,nicely presented with good service.
Had an excellent Sunday breakfast here (Dec '22) - available before 11.55am. Really beautiful and cozy interior. Friendly service. Roasts also looked good. Large outdoor space for the warmer months.
Absolutely beautiful dinner this evening. Lovely blankets and hot water bottles to keep us warm. Large sun umbrella to keep us dry. Our 3 course meal was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious - beautifully complimented by wine. Lovely, friendly service and atmosphere. We really can't wait until the indoor Restaurant is permitted to open and are already planning our next visit. Huge thanks to Paul & Georgie for a lovely evening!

Stumbled upon this absolute gem. One of the best lunches I've ever had. Can't wait to go back and try the dinner menu. Highly recommend
We enjoyed the cosy atmosphere of The Stables. We had a lovely table for two by the window. I had the sea bass special and my husband had the smoked salmon and haddock risotto. Both dishes were delicious! I had a nice French merlot and my husband enjoyed a local draught pale ale. We rounded off the meal with dessert and tea and coffee. The servers were very attentive. The Stables is a little gem!
We can’t be more satisfied with our food. Best place to spend a weekend lunch.
Delicious lunch (Salmon /fish risotto with poached egg), friendly service, very pleasant surroundings.

Love this place. A great family run restaurant with a very knowledgeable wine expert. Food is incredible, I'd highly recommend a steak cooked on the volcanic rocks. Lovely atmosphere and competitively priced food. Highly recommended

I had my first meal at the Stables last night and it definitely won't be the last! Georgie was very attentive and Paul kept the drinks coming. Chef Peter produced the BEST venison I have ever eaten and a fabulous creme brule that I could become addicted to. Katya also helps the Restaurant to be a real asset to Petersfield. Keep up the good work!
What a gem of a place. Was in Petersfield looking for a lunch other than basic chain pub fare and stumbled across the Stables Wine Bar and Kitchen and so pleased I did. A local restaurant with its own individuality, warmth and charm. Service was friendly and attentive and the food was excellent, incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked. A generous cheese board topped off an excellent lunch. The only downside is it is not local to me! It was a treat to find. Thank you.
My partner and I received exceptional service at the restaurant while having a lovely evening meal.
Our food was delicious, highly recommended indeed.
The wine list was varied and good, including a nice selection of desert wine.

We vIsited this restaurant for the first time on Wednesday with our friends on their recommendation- and so pleased we did! I had scallops which were cooked to perfection in a charming setting with friendly and attentive service! I couldn’t fault it and plan to go again soon and have already recommended it to anyone and everyone who will listen!!
Very enjoyable. Had a tasty lunch in sunshine. The sticky toffee pudding with cream dessert hit the spot, with an excellent latte to follow. Looking forward to the next visit!
