We stayed here for one night with a couple of friends in our campers. It was easy to book and staff were informative and friendly over the phone. When we got there, we were greeted at the gate and shown to our pitch. It was quiet and peaceful and situated right next to a canal with barge boats. we went to the pub for a couple of drinks before we set up. Very quirky and interesting pub. Lots of painting ceilings and walls. lots of seating area and a friendly atmosphere. There are four showers that I counted and toilet blocks. All kept clean and toilet roll provided. Come the evening, there was a band called 'sarums lot', a rock cover band. Loud, fun and busy. There is a evening food band selling chips, rice and curry for £5. Again the food van is there for breakfast also. All reasonable prices. We had a fantastic time and will 100% be returning.

The Barge Inn, is a lovely authentic canal pub & Inn with accomodation and Glamping Bell Tents. A friend and I visited on a daily basis for 5 day's. We were made more than welcome by the staff who treated us like family. The Inn is right next to the Kennet & Avon canal and has a fabulous beer garden and warm sunny rooms. They sell a wide range of beers, local srumpy Cider, non-alcoholic drinks, and spirits. Do try the Lilly's Rubard Cider or Cherries & Berries Cider and Bundaberg Ginger Beer. The evening we had a meal I tried the special which was a warm Goats Cheese, Red Onion & Mango Tart with fresh salad and hand cut chips. My friends had local sausages & Mash and a Mushroom Stroganoff Tart. The puddings were home made, I can recommend the warm Treacle Tart! Do take some time to look at the amazing hand painted ceiling in the pool table area of the Inn, it's painted by a local artist. They also have regular live music sessions, featuring some of the local Barge owners who are a truly talented bunch! Also if you have a well behaved dog, you can take it in the pub. And last but not least the ladies toilets are spotless.

Absolutely love this pub, for both a friendly food venue but also for music. If you haven't travelled to see it then put it on the list. Breakfast was my favourite meal, but all the dinners look amazing too. They accommodate for food sensitivities too. I'm Gluten Free Dairy Free and was full with good food. I've also been privileged to stay both at the campsite and in one of their rooms - immaculate homely feel. Unfortunately the shower was out of order in the room (no hot water) at one point, but would definitely stay again. Highly recommend. :)

Popped in for a swift pint after a stroll up Milk Hill. The Ramsbury brew was very tasty and welcome on such a hot day. Nice pub, forever remembered for the TV series "Hunted" when someone launched themselves into the canal😄

We were recommended to come here by a couple we met in Avebury. Honest to God, we Canadians were looking to finally get our hands on some fish and chips. They were so amazing and we haven't been able to find any that measured up. So good so was the tartar sauce. Wow!

Authentic and full of character and atmosphere, this historic canalside pub has a great range of freshly cooked food (very decent portion sizes) at reasonable prices. Friendly and efficient service. Worth a detour!

I've been coming here on and off for nearly 20 years and watched as it has developed it's camping & B&B business - but at it's heart it's still a friendly and joyful pub with great food, beer and staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble, the food is constantly good, the beer is local and will blow your socks off and the surrounding area is jaw droopingly beautiful. What more could you want?

Extremely accommodating, helpful, and friendly! Photon Energy has a tradition to organise an annual team building event. This year, we opted for a camping trip to Pewsey, with our base being the Barge Inn. Right from the get-go, Lenny went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of exceptional. Despite having a group of over 40 people, some of whom planned to stay overnight, everything was handled effortlessly. Additionally, we had quite a few individuals with specific dietary requirements, including vegans, vegetarians, and those on a gluten-free diet. The staff gladly took care of providing delicious and suitable breakfast and dinner options for everyone. The level of care and attention to detail truly elevated our experience and left a lasting impression on all of us.
