Fantastic place to have either a lovely meal or a quiet (ish) drink.
We really enjoy our local. They have done a lovely job with the refurb turning this into a cosy place with snugs and a very welcoming feel. The hosts are lovely and the beers all kept very well. We very much enjoying going here regularly for a pint or two.
We have eaten here 3 times (so far), first time was spot on - great food, portions and service. Second time was adequate with service patchy and the third time was better again. However this is only recently opened and so whilst there is one rather harsh (IMO) review, bear in mind that the serving staff are all new and finding their feet - the restaurant is always busy and if you want a table, you need to book - that tells you something!
As a pub I would give this 5* plus. A lovely place to relax, a welcome that is rare in many pubs these days and beer always tastes its best in a good village Inn.
We held our Dads 90th birthday get together on Saturday 8th July at lunch time,we had 60 guests. All the staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The food was amazing and lots of it. Thank you to everyone on that day,would recommend it.
Saturday Afternoon we held a Hen Party in the restaurant that was on the theme of an afternoon tea, I can not thank the ladies enough for the absolutely fantastic spread, the food, the venue and the relaxed atmosphere was just perfect. The cakes were truly amazing, the best chocolate brownie I have ever eaten.
I must also comment about how reasonable the cost was and I wouldn't hesitate in holding another event here and I am recommending to all my friends. I have uploaded some photos to the main page. Thank you again for a fantastic afternoon.

Was recommended this pub and glad, very friendly staff food is yummy too been in the week and Sunday lunch was good too going back with family. Nice garden area and tables to over look river 😊😃 well worth a visit..
Lunch today had the beef and ham salad , beautiful meat cooked perfect and salad was the best I have had, so much choice
We went here for a family meal, there were 11 of us and we all had a variety of dishes. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented with obviously fresh good quality ingredients. (The sticky toffee pudding was especially lovely!)
The service was friendly and efficient and the pub itself was a warm, welcoming place to be.
This was our first visit but most definitely won't be our last!
Fabulous meal here today, great value and massive portions! Still full hours later. Lovely setting. The spring flowers are a nice touch too. Would recommend to all.
Really fabulous looking pub that serves really good food. Sunday dinner today was very tasty and good value for money, starters and desserts lovely too - all appeared to be homemade and tasted like it too. Will definitely be back!
Nice cosy pub that is very dog friendly with treats and separate bar areas for those with a dog.

Wow! We didnt know where to go for dinner tonight so we tried The Ship Inn. The pub is absolutely beautiful! The staff were extremely polite and helpful. They gave us a menu and asked us to sit in the bar area until our table was ready. The table was in a lovely part of the restaurant area. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed 3 courses! Thank you very much!

Turned up without a booking (recommended) however wasn't in a rush and within 30 mins we were sat down. Good atmosphere, reasonably priced drinks and food. Food was better than expected, we had some nibble starters belly pork bites with apple sauce, mac n cheese bites with spicy jam and duck spring rolls with hoisin sauce. It was delicious 😋 Mains we had Vension with red cabbage, baby veg with dauphinoise potatoes and fish and chips. The helpings were generous, delicious and good quality. If you haven't been then put this on your list!
The restaurant only had 2 people working tonight (Saturday) however the service was impeccable and the young lad serving in the restaurant was vey polite and smiled all the time. The 4 of us all had fish n chips which were the best we’ve had in a very long time! Definitely recommend this place!
Nice pub, decent food, good beer on tap (Neck Oil). Have visited a couple of times since moving to the area.
Only criticism is they don’t take cash which I find strange but there’s a way around that - get someone else to pay!!
They don’t have a website which is unusual these days, only a Facebook page.
I’d like to be able to help with that as that’s my line of business ;-)

Lovely location, amazing food and friendly service.
We just moved to the area during lockdown and have been waiting to enjoy a meal here. We weren't disappointed! The takeaway style tapas was delicious.
We are looking forward to tasting more of the menu once you are fully up and running again.
We have been back again a couple of times now for drinks and it's such a lovely pub. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. My parents have also moved into the area recently and we have recommended them to come for a meal,they loved it.

First visit to the ship. Went as a double date 😀..food was amazing staff were lovely. The setting and decor is perfect and lovely area outside and couldnt fault anything. We will definatly visit again and very soon. I will attempt to up load dome pictures of the food

Nice friendly staff. Our choice of nibbles were very tasty, especially the falafel. We both had the pie of the day and was not disappointed and served with fresh vegetables all served nice and hot however the pub was quite chilly which was a shame.
Will go back again but when it's abit warmer.
Beautiful pub and gardens stopped here as was driving past and was lunch time so popped in, lovely ppl, beautiful food and a amazing garden and patio area, great find.
