Well where to start ,my husband and I were looking for somewhere nice to eat in pitlochry before going to the Theatre to see Chicago.we stumbled across a board that was leaning against a bridge. We thought this is the kind of food we wanted so we followed the signs and came to this lovely little pub.We were given a lovely warm welcome from the lady behind the bar asked her did she have a table ,she politely showed us to our seats placed a menu in our hands and left us to decide what we wanted to eat.We decided to go the whole hog and have a three course hi tea for a small cost of £14. The lentil soup was the best we have ever tasted (even better than grannies ).followed by freshly cooked fish chips n peas,(me) steak pie potatoes veg and roast potatoes, just when we thought omg you can't get better I was blown away with the clootie dumpling and custard.(hubby)apple pie and custard.. also included were a pot of tea and pot of coffee..absoloutly stuffed we struggled to make the walk to the theatre. Would definitely reccomend Drummonds as the place to eat generous portions of freshly cooked food .we have even said it was so good that we would make the trip again to Pitlochry just to eat here ..20 out of 10 from us .compliments to the Chef for first class meal,The service was prompt polite and welcoming .you can't ask for any more than that.
Visited here last night, been on a previous visit when we were up that way, it didn't disappoint us it was great, staff were courteous, food was brilliant... great wee place well worth a visit. Oh and reasonably priced too..... get yer selves down there folks....
Ate there for 2 nights. I had the battered haddock and chips on 1st and 2nd night,my husband had the Steak pie both nights and he said it" was to die for". 1st night dessert we had apple slice with custard and the other half had clootie dumpling and custard. 2nd night i had eton mess and he had sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and custard. Prices were very reasonable,we had hight tea price for 1st night at £12 for 2 courses. Busy venue for meals and drinks, good place to eat if going to festival theatre. Music plays in background and not to loud, staff very attentive. Would recomend it to anyone

Even better was the tasty food thanks for having us!
Been going here for years, lovely wee place, friendly staff, and good food.no doubt will be back many times in the coming year, live in Perth and come to Pitlochry often.
Great food , friendly staff, we visit every time we are in Pitlochry, total must if you are in the area,
Great craic and great food, staff really welcoming and accommodating. Loved my meal there with the extended family.
We stopped off for a quick bite, coffee and cake, and ended up drooling over other people's fish and chips so we ordered our own fish and chips and sent the cheesecake back to the kitchen till we'd finished. The fish was gorgeous the battery was lovely and light and the chips were perfect. Don't know what they'd done to the mushy peas, they were like none I'd ever had before but ok. The Easter egg cheesecake was delicious too. The young man who served us was grand. All very friendly. Would go again if we're ever in the area.
A great wee find.....,
Fantastic homemade food, great service and very helpful staff. We will be back!
Visited the Restaurant for dinner with my family. The premises are well decorated and have comfortable atmosphere. The menu is aptly framed and the staff is friendly. We had an excellent time with delicious food. There is a clean washroom facility. You may need to park your vehicle on the road. Lunch menu is available between 12 noon to 6 pm and light snacks are available till 4 pm.
Yes its 5 * and well deserved.
Clean, quirky, very friendly staff and good wholesome food with ideal portions.
Also very reasonably priced... a real find.. im back for breakfast tomorrow 🍻👍
Been for breakfast and its deeelicious 😜
Popped in for the first time ever,, this evening, to see if we could get a late meal.
Yes, no problem they said.
We were asked to be patient as all food is cooked fresh, to order.
Our meals still arrived quickly, were pipping hot, wonderfully cooked & beautifully fresh.
The best fish I have had in a very long time.
It was late, we'd had a long day & were very tired, so it wasnt till after we'd eaten we looked around & took stock of our surroundings.
What a lovely, comfortable, homely feel this place has. It is a little quirky, let's say interesting. But it's clean, tidy, fun, clearly loved & very homely too.
The staff, by the way, are friendly & helpful too!
Great job guys, please keep it up. We'll be back!
Sunday lunch with the family , Just passing through , gave it a try and was not disappointed. ,they catered for the 6 of us .No problem,Great food from steak pie to the fish , excellent service , and had a lovely feel for the place , Kids enjoyed the “real” fish fingers. Staff were lovely.5 stars 😁
Good tasting home cooked food in a cosy bright atmosphere
Lovely wee restuarant.Service quick and polite staff .Food was excellent. Not too many dishes on the menu meaning everything fresh. Reasonable prices
The most homely comfortable and welcoming place to eat in pitlochry. Especially when you are on your own.
The meals are freshly
Cooked. Served by the pleasant staff and nothing is too much trouble.
Besides being very fresh and tasty they are always excellent value for money.
We were in Pitlochry 2 yrs ago.. found this great place by chance.. we had been exploring the town, then the rain came on.. so what do you do.. you find somewhere to go.. !!!Or is that just our excuse for a refreshment..😉.. got a great welcome.. and we were there every night for dinner and drinks... We have just booked to visit Pitlochry again next month.. I think we will have to visit again just to make sure it's still as good as it was the last time..✔
Excellent & cosy cafe / pub, conveniently adjacent to a roomy car park. Had a lovely soup & cake & coffee,. Good friendly service and inexpensive. You need to know it is "cash only".
Local pub with reasonably priced meals. Cash only.
Another delicious, home made dinner with great beer, the Scots do it best. Family run and very cosy, so expect quirky conversations with the kids who help serve and a few sozzled fishermen out front.
A lovely atmosphere. I had the fish tea, the best i've ever had! I could tell the food was fresh and the service was excellent. Definitely going again, would reccommend to anyone.
:)
Tasty food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff but take quite a while to get our meals.
Brilliant food, brilliant service and a warm welcome that kept us coming back for more!
We were wild camping just outside Pitlochry and stumbled on Drummond's by chance. Kaz was amazing with our young, cheeky kids who kept asking where their food was. It wasn't a long wait, and when it arrived we were really impressed. The kids meals are fab. Over a few visits they had burgers, from the local butcher, and by far and away the BEST burger i've seen on a kids menu :o). The chicken sticks and fish sticks are freshly cooked in the lightest batter. All kids meals come with chips but they were happy to add peas. All really delicious and an absolute bargain at £5 including a carton of apple or orange juice and followed up with a 'treat' if they managed to clear their plate, or at least make a decent effort!
The adult menu was also delicious, we had steak pie, fish and chips, and gammon steak with ALL the trimmings. Excellent quality, perfectly cooked and great value :o)
The restaurant itself is bright, cosy and homely. You can eat inside or out and there's a lounge bar attached, so a range of interesting beers! Most interesting is the phenomenal collection of plates covering the restaurant walls which commemorate Scotland's mining past, along with paintings done by the miners themselves. It's a fascinating collection and certainly made us think about a culture and a way of life which thrived in Scotland but which no longer exists. The owners used to run a hotel in Fife where they began their collection, now it's in Drummond's in Pitlochry!
Overall it was a fantatic find and ticked all our boxes. Food = 5 stars, young children friendly = 5 stars and a generally pleasant place to be = 5 stars. And our kids are already asking if we'll be going back to see Kaz on our next holiday!
Thanks Kaz and Magz!
