The Black Horse Restaurant, Pluckley - Pluckley - Photo album

Myself and my family decided to visit this establishment for our wedding anniversary dinner. We were well received with a warm welcome. Our table was in a lovely spot within the restaurant. The service was excellent. The food arrived in a more than reasonable time frame. I cannot fault the food
Third time returning and it just gets better. The best Sunday lunch around, cannot recommend highly enough. Gemma and Lee are always lovely hosts, as are all their team. Good drinks selection. The Black Horse looks stunning inside and out. Cannot beat a drink in the garden before heading in, to be
I visited this delightful restaurant with my two sons for a delightful lunch. Our lovely host and the team ensured everything was taken care of. Our food was superb. I really enjoyed my time here. I now know why my son dines here so regularly. Well worth a visit
The restaurant is in an old building which dates back to the 15th century. The atmosphere is great (low ceilings, hops hanging all around and massive, beautifully presented fireplaces). The food is delicious. We (a party of 4) had the chicken, the pork belly and the steak and ale pie, plus starters
This is a fantastic place. Gorgeous medieval pub. Lots of lovely touches inside. Beautiful food. Very friendly welcoming staff. A rare find as they say. A really Fabulous spot. Support your local eateries. They need our support in these difficult times
Just a very fine restaurant and not a pub!Food is really tasty, nice atmosphere and warm welcome. Perhaps a bit posh but it’s what we expect from this little bijou. Please don’t forget the chef, he can cook!
Have been many time to the black horse in pluckley When we have friends visit we will without fail take them for a Sunday roast as it’s always absolutely suburb from start to finish. From the moment we walk in the gracious landlady Gemma welcomes us, all the staff acknowledge you and make you feel c
Lovely pub, very welcoming and great for a Sunday roast. Starter (Goats cheese tart) was VERY small but the main was a great large portion.
A relatively short but well chosen and tempting menu, all dishes chosen in our party of high quality and very tasty. Attentive but not obsessive service. Comfortable rooms and tables within a fine country pub. Eating outside available (but it was raining!).
We had a lovely Sunday lunch. The staff were all very professional and Gemma was friendly and personable. It has a lovely atmosphere with candlelight and I would love to visit at Christmas when I imagine the Black Horse would be beautifully decorated.
The new owners deserve high praise for the transformation of The Black Horse. The food is exceptional and the hospitality & atmosphere is fantastic. We can’t wait to return.
Had a wonderful lunch. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. The cocktails were very boozy! Perfect! Topped off by a super-friendly team and a warm welcome, we will definitely be back again. Thank you. Ps - ask for a rum and raison affogato - yum!

We booked a table here for lunch on Easter Sunday, and it was honestly the best pub roast that I've ever had. Great and friendly service, generous portions cooked to perfection and genuinely delicious. There's a big garden as well and looks like they have tables ready for when the weather gets bett
Another lovely evening at the Black Horse. Amazing food and staff, with a superb attention to detail. Some of the lower rated reviews are right, it is not a pub anymore, it is an amazing restaurant. The food quality is excellent, the menu is unique, and certainly is worth a visit for a special occas
I have visited the Black Horse in Pluckley twice now and both times I was impressed with the service, the food, the drinks and of course, the setting. The first time I visited was in the summer and for lunch. We sat inside but grew jealous of the beautiful sun so asked to move. Sitting outside with
The black horse is very welcoming even if like us you're looking for the spirits of the none alcoholic kind. The bar staff are very friendly a lovely lady told us a little about the history of the place and about the alleged ghosts that haunt it. The food was lush and worth every penny highly recomm
Pork belly needed a little longer to really melt the fat down but I enjoyed the food in all. I love the feel of the pub on the inside- nice and cosy.
