The Guard Room Cafe - Plymouth - Photo album

Quite a wide range of breakfast/ brunch bistro cafes popped up in and around Plymouth and the Guard Room is amongst the best of them. Great nautical theme in keeping with its boaty location. Really comfortable, relaxing atmosphere with attractive options (weather permitting) for outside seating Took
Amazing food, amazing views. Staff were friendly, very busy! Went for lunch, the menu was limited but lovely food. The breakfast menu has more choice, so prefer to go there in the mornings. You can bring your dog, just shame you can't book beforehand.
Staff friendly Food good quality, medium portion, price ok £11 for light lunch and a drink... View amazing outside. Inside qyute good. All clean nice. Great place check it out ! God bless
Very friendly with good menu and meal was delicious 🤤 well presented 👍
We called in at The Guard Room for breakfast before travelling home from Plymouth after traveling from Brittany on the ferry. We are really glad we did - the breakfast was really excellent! I went for the full English and my wife had the vegetarian breakfast - both were excellent. We were able to si
Dropped in for lunch after we stumbled upon it. Lovely little place. Food excellent friendly young team and great location. Well worth a visit
Great food, creamed mushrooms are amazing. Sat outside while drinking coffee, and moved inside for food. Ambience inside is nautical, and there are usually some dogs for entertainment.
I only had coffee, so can't comment on food. Service and atmosphere get 5 each.
Lovely food, freshly prepared. A good setting despite being a gloomy day. Free parking across the road. Excellent menu throughout the day. Sitting area outside for when the weather allows. Warm, friendly staff. Very accommodating menu for vegetarians.
Wonderful place in a great location. Service was great and with a smile. Only real complaint was the noise , they really need to undergo an acoustics assesment or simply ban loud workman standing at the counter talking about air filters. A sign stating this would go a long way, potentially using a
We go regularly both to here and to there sister cafe The Mess Room. Both are excellent for breakfast and their coffees are good
Although the outside of the Guard Room looks umpromising the inside is well fitted out with excellent views over the Cattewater towards Laira Bridge. My full English Breakfast arrived in 7 minutes and was certainly good value. As with so many cafes though, the mushrooms need to be improved along wi
Lovely food, great decor. Ample outside seating and parking
Lovely view, outside seating available. Good service but thought over the top prices
Perfect for a great meal or.just coffee to catch up with friends. Completely recommended!!
Visited The Guard Room at Turnchapel for a hot drink. Had a flat white, followed by a pot of tea, with toasted teacake. All served quite quickly. Café clean with floor to roof windows, enabling customers to observe view of harbour etc. Staff pleasant & menu varied.
