We had the pleasure of staying at the Duke of Cornwall Hotel last night, staying in their Reynolds Tower Suite. Our afternoon started with our very own personal butler serving us a glass of champagne, then escorting us up to the Tower for our delectable afternoon tea! Whilst tucking into the tea we enjoyed the spectacle of the Brittany Ferries Pont Aven arriving into port. The 360 degree views are stunning, we could have stayed there all day watching the word go by from our very own tower. After enjoying an evening stroll we were back at the Duke to enjoy a nice glass of red wine and a little nibble of a cheeseboard delivered to our room, which was just right - fruit, home-made pickle, cheese and some extremely nice crackers, although before tucking in we did sneak back up to the top of the Tower to watch the Pont Aven depart for Roscoff. The Reynolds Suite has views out to Plymouth Sound and beyond, it was nice to wake up this morning, raise the blinds and enjoy the view. I can't imagine a better view in Plymouth! Breakfast was also very tasty. All of the staff at the Duke of Cornwall are so friendly and helpful, they couldn't do enough for us. Thank you for making our stay so special.
Needed a hotel for a few nights near ferry terminal as I was returning back from Northern Spain cudnt have asked for a great place to stay bedroom was lovely bed very comfy, lovely bar to have a drink in with well kept beers, staff very friendly and breakfast must be best in town a very good choice on breakfast menu it's location is only about 5 minutes from both town and ferry port as well as Plymouth hoe making it very convenient I wud definitely stay here again.
Thank you so much for the afternoon tea you put on for my friends and I yesterday, it was the perfect setting to ask them to be my bridesmaids in our wedding venue, which made it all the more special. The staff were so attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them, and the food was amazing - great value for money and the nicest afternoon tea we have had. We hope you will start doing them regularly now as we will be in attendance more often if you do, and will recommend you to everyone.
Love this place. Thoroughly recommend the tea at the top experienced it today and it was marvellous staff attentive food delicious views to due for xxxx
TheDukePlymouth I can’t thank you and all your staff from chambermaid to restaurant to reception up to Steve the manager for making our stay last weekend the most enjoyable stay at a hotel for a while. We changed bedroom without any fuss. The other manager on duty Saturday night was excellent too. Lovely friendly staff. Oh and of course the young bar man. We will be back. Highly recommend you
I have had the MOST AMAZING customer service whilst staying TheDukePlymouth BestWestern Food is excellent, Staff can NOT fault at all (always polite, calling me Sir when checking in was very cool) Room was decent. I WILL be back at some point soon. I would definitely recommend.
Took the opportunity to meet a friend for morning tea as she was staying overnight in the hotel. Sat in the lounge with a lovely fire and twinkling fairy lights. A lovely relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very accommodating. If you’re looking for a meeting place with charm, definitely worth looking at The Duke with the bonus that there is parking (either in the hotel car park or street).
Booked the work Christmas Away Day here. A conference in the morning followed by Christmas lunch before departing. Melanie was fantastic with the planning in the run up to the day, even with us adding requests until the day before. On the day everything was so smooth, staff were friendly, polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic and we are already trying to finalise the date for next year to come back! Thanks for a great experience.
