My Cornish friends raves about Malcolm Barnecutt and I can see why... the pasties are great!
The prices can be a little on the higher end, but being about quality, you get what you get.
Plus this branch is actually very clean, so the place looks rather hygienic too!
You also usually see a queue here, just shows how good their Cornish pasties are!
Took delivery today of my pasties. As a Cornish bird living in Devon at the moment, (not for long though) the smell coming out of the box nearly bought tears to my eyes! They look proper, and I can't wait for tea time.
Very busy on a Saturday lunchtime, clearly a popular destination and break from the rather sterile Drake Centre next door. I could have done with a clearer queuing system as take away customers were mixed in with those waiting for tables. The food was good and the service fine given how busy the place was.
Probably the best Cornish pasty in Plymouth.
They also have other parties and a full menu for lunch and sandwiches. The location is perfect and convenient if you are in the city center.
Service is good and food is great. What more can you ask for. A must go to place when you visit Plymouth for some proper pasty.
Great staff especially door lady Sue. Also kind, professional and courteous. Great food (no indigestion from the cheese and onion pasties, everywhere else has too much black pepper and they give me heartburn &/or indigestion). Great atmosphere and i luv the lights which are industrial style. It does get busy but have patience it is more than worth the wait (its busy because its so good). =)
Very helpful staff. As soon as you have finished the tables are cleaned. I used to use Costa. But yours is far superior. Congratulations to all the helpful staff

Good service, vegetarian pasty served cold as asked for and nice coffee. Great service from Sue on the door. Sue is a superb front of house person. Lovely manager Lady and polite staff. 24 March.
Super coffee shop and bakery.
Ot has a super range of fresh cakes everyday to eat in or take away it has an outdoor eating area as well which is always shaded a d good on a hot day for keeping out of the sun.
They typically serve pies, pasties, and sausage rolls along with sandwiches, baguettes, toasties, pannini's, and bacon rolls, which are great with an egg.
It's extremely popular and busy and can get extremely noisy, making it hard to hold a conversation.
Staff wise, they can be a little frumpy and grumpy, especially the older ones close to retirement. But the younger ones serving are cheerful enough.
You will have to que at the counter to order, unfortunately, but the food is brought to the table fairly quickly.
It can also be a little pricy except for the cakes which are very reasonable.
You have to go a long way to find a better steak pasty than here. Panini's look lovely too.

Excellent service, fresh food and a nice atmosphere to go with it. My Monday morning breakfast place, it's quickly becoming a tradition.
Friendly service, good food and nicely priced.
I also like their attention to keeping the areas hygienically clean and tidy.
Makes for a more welcoming atmosphere, will definitely be calling and trying something different off there menu on next visit.

Very friendly chap on duty today around 13:30. Very friendly and was brilliant with his customer service. Came from around the back of counter to help an elderly lady choose and provide recommendations. Will liaise with the senior management at HQ to give him a shout out. Great store and very well paced in Plymouth. Everyone needs to experience a barnecutts. Thanks Plymouth 👍

Really friendly, clean and modern spot to watch the world go by next to Drake’s Circus. Ordered a bacon and egg bap and a coffee, both yummy and great value.
Big fan of the table service and paying upon ordering, so no hanging about once you’re done with your food!
