An excellent day out with something for everyone. From fine art to a woolly mammoth 🦣. Entry is free. Cafe is fabulous. Special events running through the holidays, such as crafting for younger children. Highly recommend I will definitely return.
The newish Box museum in Plymouth is a real treat. Wide range of displays well put together and described. Terrific museum shop. Some interactive displays for children and bigger people. Staff were a joy to speak with.. they loved their work.
Mix of maritime, art, war, natural history and TV/media exhibits. All free to visit and able to move around accessibly. Room guides were informative and helpful. Loved recording the new in front of a green screen. Delicious food in the café and the shop had quality stuff.
Definitely worth visiting! I was surprised how great the museum is. It's much bigger than it seems at first. It has very interesting and impressive exhibits with modern technology

A great place to bring the family. With lots to see and learn about. With an activity area / work shop to create art which children can take away with them. A large eating area which is bright and has plenty of seating options. With friendly staff and clear signs to direct you around the galleries.
Really enjoyed this place. First time visiting and found it very interesting will need to come back again without the womb goblins so I can have a proper nose around.
Fantastic place, dating back centuries of artifacts. Massive mammoth. The blitz and I know now our sea front, is the best harbour in the world.
Great free museum. Really interesting items displayed well. Loved Scott’s skis and the insect display. A fantastic afternoon out. The kids really liked it too!
Really love the box and the differenr exhibitions they put on, I recommend visiting as a tourist or a local I'd you haven't yet:)

It was very boxy. A nicely laid out gallery space/ museum. Lots of local history in the form of digital media/ artefacts/ pictures. The café was a delight: we had 2 x croque madames a tea and a coffee for £27, so rather reasonable. Very nice. Would recommend a visit as it is FREE.
Fascinating, beautifully presented museum. I learned things about Plymouth I didn't know before. Plenty of interactive exhibits in a wonderful building.
A great place to visit with enough interest for all ages. From interactive displays, a great digital history of Plymouth sound and a life size woolly mammoth there's plenty to do and see. Entry is free and the onsite cafe provides good food.
