We visited the restaurant for a meal on a Thursday evening. The restaurant area was very clean, staff were lovely and the food was fantastic! The portions were generous and freshly prepared. Service was quick. We will definitely be back! A great place with fantastic food!!

The first thing to note about the fountain Inn is that it's no longer a public house, purely a restaurant with rooms. Having said that there is a bar here and residents are permitted to use it as such. Though the bar covers most requirements the choices are limited to bottles or keg beers and the prices are slightly above the average for the area, check out the photos on their website but don't be fooled by the one showing old speckled hen and rev. James.
The food is good quality and the portions are generous and, unlike the beer, are competitively priced using predominantly fresh ingredients (I can't speak for every meal they serve). The service was exceptional and the room comfortable, if a little space restrictive, with all the basic requirements for a short break.
The location was pleasant, very little within easy walking distance but plenty within a short drive (even the nearest pub was around 2 miles away).
One thing that may be of note to anyone who has difficulty with steps and stairs the disabled access is quite limited. The front entrance is disabled friendly as is an amount of the main restaurant with a ground floor disabled toilet facility, all others are accessed via a flight of stairs. Outside seating is plentiful but all on stepped terraces with no access to any without using a stairway that we could see. Being on the side of a hill they've done well with the layout but please note that getting from the car park, at the rear of the restaurant, to the front door (in order to avoid several short flights of stairs) involves going up and down a fairly steep slope.
Lovely place for lunch with kids. Not fancy but good quality and absolutely immaculately clean and well-maintained. They obviously take a great deal of pride in both the place and the service they provide.
stayed here 12 years ago when looking at properties to move into. So good we go back for food when we can as so good. Fabulous friendly staff and owner, lovely food. see you soon 👍
Only visited here for Sunday lunch - delicious!! Booked Sunday lunch for the whole family, everyone was really pleased with the food and the portion sizes. Excellent service from the staff. Will definitely be returning.
We were invited to a friend's surprise 60th birthday. The staff , function room ,restaurant and breakfast all absolutely 1st class. The bedroom was spotlessly clean. Tea and coffee in the room.
The area is beautiful. We would definitely recommend this little hidden gem of a place.
We had 2night stay, staff very helpful and friendly, breakfast very good, dinner had lamb shanks. Tasted lovely and tender, room clean and tidy 10 out 10

Upon walking into the building we were warmly welcomed by a lovely lady. We were taken to our table and the specials and menu were clearly explained to us.
The atmosphere is very friendly and the place is spotless.
I must say, the food was outstanding. So tasty and very generous portions.
Will definitely be going back again.... soon.

Parking was easy, the serving staff were excellent the main meals were good but probably could have been better. The grilled food was all slightly overdone. Not worth complaining about, but was something the Chef probably aware of.
Yes I would recommend going there, very clean and well presented.
Had a Sunday roast today .The best Dinner iv out for a long time fair play to their chef.

Went to the Fountain Inn for a romantic evening meal but unfortunately we were put next to a family where the table was a tad noisy. We the asked the waitress if she could find us a less noisy table which she did with no problems asked. Was hoping the menu could have had a few more pasta dishes other than lasagne. But still had a lovely evening.
Three of us had lunch for my birthday today. We chose the 3 course specials.
The food was outstanding as usual, the atmosphere great, most importantly the staff are outstanding, courteous, knowledgeable and very efficient.

Love the Fountain Inn, been my local for a long time, food and service here is always very good. Sunday lunch is lovely too. I miss the days where you could go for a drink after work or Christmas morning up there when I was younger. But as a restaurant, would highly recommend.
