Great value pub with rooms. Friendly welcome, shown personally to room. Room is well equipped. Beds are comfy enough. Bathroom clean and in good condition. Shower is over a bath, but it's got excellent pressure and heat. Biscuits and bottles of still and sparkling water provided free, as well as tea and coffee making facilities. Shame the milk is full fat UHT and I prefer fairly traded tea and coffee but I'm not knocking them down for this. Breakfast is a mix of help yourself continental options and got meal you pre-order the night before. My poached eggs were perfect! They make you whatever coffee you fancy from behind the bar. All in all a great place to stay if you're working in Torfaen.

Gorgeous Sunday Lunch. It's been recently given a fresh new look in the main area of the pub. Nice & bright & fresh. The food there is absolutely fantastic and a really good price. My partner & my friends partner had the roast beef. They said it was cooked to perfection, I've never seen my partner finish his plate but he did at this place. My friend and I had one of the vegetarian options - butternut squash with roasted vegetables, blue cheese & walnuts. It was superb! So tasty! With a good selection of roasties & trays of seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding & Gravy. We were all stuffed! Beautiful location, great personal service. Good selection of beers and coffee too. Really nice way to spend our Sunday afternoon. Top marks to the owner & his staff. Thanks guys we will definitely be back for more! *****
