This is a great little place for a coffee or breakfast. I've been here a few times over the years and the food quality is superb which is why I always come back if I'm in the area. I've seen some comments saying that it needs updating ( it does have 79/80s wood panel walls) but I think that's all part of the charm of this place, it feels comfortable, welcoming and warm. More modern places feel sterilised and cold so please don't change a thing.
The staff are lovely and really friendly. The food takes a little while to come but it is superb, high quality, really tasty and the toast! My god it is delicious, if there's one thing to have here it's the toast, fresh uncut bread with plenty of butter melted in.

A very friendly little cafe, typical of the Welsh valleys!!! A good hearty menu and well cooked food. Clean and tidy. Would highly recommend. Stops serving meals at 1:45ish, only warm and cold snacks e.g sandwiches, toasties, beans/egg on toast etc. Closes around 3pm.
Lovely food, hot and tasty. Pleasant staff. Reasonable price. Only criticism was time taken to serve. Will visit again though

One of the best cooked breakfast i hv ever had. Gd service, friendly staff. Allways nice books π to look at.
Me and my sister try to come here once a week for a catch up and there breakfast is lush and the staff are always friendly π always look forward to coming here πππ
As a builder I've had a few breakfasts in my time .. but this was by far the best , can not knock this one bit, and deffo ordering extra toast next time, not because it wasn't enough but because it was the best I've had .. deffo coming back
This place is amazing it's a load of history and seeing how our dad's and there dad's had a gruelling days work to doiwent down when it first opened but now they got two parts to see u an see the old pit or u can see the new side but I must say it's worth going
