Enjoyed our 1st meal so much we booked a table for the next day. Really impressed with the food, especially the chicken & ham pie which was on their specials menu. Dog friendly which is always a bonus. I'm not a fan of chips bit the triple cooked chips are amazing!

Visited here for family birthday celebrations. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and great value for money. The pub is clean and has a great atmosphere. All in all, it was a very enjoyable evening

Can't comment on the food but it did smell lovely, just had drinks. Great service with a smile, warm welcome. Great destination and gives the sense of being in the middle of nowhere and yet just down the road from home💯

We have been here several times whilst on holiday nearby. The atmosphere is always lovely, whatever time of day! The staff are so friendly and efficient and the food is superb! We ordered a few small plates to share but all the food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing! We would definitely recommend anyone to try it!

Enjoyed a very pleasant visit today - Sunday lunchtime. Elegantly prepared food which was extremely tasty! The nut roast chosen by a non - vegetarian who just fancied a change was apparently the best they had ever had!..the summer pudding dessert was light and delicious. Very helpful and polite staff - spotlessly clean throughout - full disability access throughout and disabled parking spaces available. I was not aware of a disabled toilet bit that could have been my oversight - toilets for general use were clean and generous in size so possibly could be used as disabled toilets depending upon disability - highly recommend and will visit again when in the area 😀

Lovely weather and lovely place for spending time with friends and celebrate wedding anniversary! Watching the pictures you can see how much I liked it! We asked for small portions of fish and chips as we consider that for adults that is enough! Tasty beers and beverage selection and great champagne 🥂! We’re back to taste the pork chops! We have had fun! Thank you for the service!

Great pub, excellent food at a reasonable price and very tasty beer!! Our Labrador was warmly welcomed and we were offered a table where he wouldn’t bother others too much! We’ll be back again as soon as we visit the area in future.

The menu was much better than when we came 18 months ago. Great to have a range of imaginative vegan options that aren't just assorted veg curry. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and it's one of the few local pubs that retained its traditional style and heritage whilst still being completely wheelchair accessible.

Friendly and buzzy traditional family pub. Took the family for a belated mother's day lunch. Despite arriving early for our booking we were met with a warm welcome and quickly found a clean table. Rachel, our waitress, was friendly and helpful. Making sure we knew what was on the menu, and which beers were on draft. We ordered the kids burgers (3) and got one steak & chips and one adult plant burger. As seems to be the habit of Hall & Woodhouse kitchens, the steak was a little over cooked (medium rare requested). But it was a good cut of meat and perfect portion size. The kids had the sorbet and ice creams that come with the kids meals - they do a good job of looking after the little ones, although there's nothing to entertain them in the beer garden, if you're coming on a sunny day. Total bill for 5, including a few leisurely drinks in the garden, was less than £20. Great value for the food and service.

6 adults 2 kids, warmly welcomed. Service was excellent at every point through lunch, Cherry listened carefully to our varied requests and made sure we got what was ordered. The Sunday Roast lunches were great, good food well cooked. The sign above the kitchen says "Food Magicians" and they lived up to that title.
