I visited the gallery on a whim with my mate, it was interesting and very well laid out, I’m not an art fan but the furniture and statues where excellent and would definitely recommend it

We arrived and was in time for a guided tour of some of the paintings (free). The guides were very enthusiastic, and told the story behind the painting , which made it very good even for my granddaughter age 10. Guided tours was at 11am and 2pm The Art Gallery has art and other artifacts, which was very interesting. To enter it's free, but they do recommend a £5 donation (to help run the place). Well worth a visit. They also have a cafe which served all sorts, and a small shop.

Excellent collection of art and artifacts collected by the Lever family in particular. Interesting information in places. Well laid out, you just need to be methodical in your visit. The fairy work was amazing, the detail in the drawings immense. Highly recommended this for any budding art student. The surrounding area is a must see too. No photos of gallery as not allowed but others provided.

Loved it! super friendly staff. FREE though I gave a £5 donation (worth it!). Great pre Raphaelite collection. Nice cafe. Great to visit if you are seeing Port Sunlight. Nearest station is Bebington.

I have visited this lovely gallery a few times and have always enjoyed wandering around looking at the fabulous paintings and other treasures. It was built by Lord Lever in honour of his wife and is the second largest building in the world built as such a tribute, the first being the Taj Mahal. I was with a group this time and had arranged for a talk to be given by Fiona Slattery Clark, the Curator of Decorative Arts at National Museums Liverpool. At our request it focused on the fabulous collection of Chinese porcelain in the gallery but also included the history of the gallery and Lord Lever. A great talk and a good introduction a visit to the gallery.

Awesome art gallery with large collection of paintings, statues and decorative art. I always pop in the gift shop and Café. Port Sunlight is one of my favourite places, and not just because I used to live there, but because it is such a beautiful village.

Not actually a Victorian Museum as it was created a little too late but maybe one of the later museums built by people of the Victorian age. It is wonderful in the literal sense of the word and just full of stuff. Mostly classical or neo classical and with a good representation of Pre Raphaelite. Maybe some are showing their age and in need of a bit of restoration but I think this just adds to the atmosphere. An easy place to get to with the Liverpool to Chester service close by.

Beautiful gallery, one of my favourite art galleries to visit!! Staff are wonderful and are super easy to approach if any questions were to be asked. The atmosphere is lovely, as it's not too busy but not too quiet! After visiting the gallery, I recommend visiting the Port Sunlight village itself on a sunny day!
