Wild Duck Inn

Went here for dinner with my partner as we were staying at the chalet beside the river. The food can be a hit or miss when going to a pub restaurant but this was a real surprise. We shared the mushrooms for a starter and had the sea bass and the steak for mains which were both great, got half portions for dessert each to finish off the dinner. The portions were generous and the half portion desserts looked like full portions. We left feeling full and satisfied with the meal. Would return if we were in the area again.

Everything about it is great. Staff, location, food. Let's talk a little about the food, it's just wonderful, tastes excellent! Enough variety to keep everyone interested, from adults to kids. I ended up i was married here it was that good! They have a gem if a place out the back for functions and weddings. It's beautiful.

We had our wedding at The Wild Duck in Feb 23. Eileen, Shay and all the team were great and took away so many headaches when it came to planning a wedding from afar. On the day everyone was really attentive without being intrusive, and made the whole day thoroughly unforgettable. Special thanks to Kieran who couldn't have been more accommodating. The venue looked amazing and had a really special atmosphere - our guests were blown away. The food was superb and all our guests enjoyed themselves. Very slow service,had to go look for someone to attend to us. Then sent upstairs to more of same. It was quiet what were they doing. Eventually we were given a menu and asked if we wanted a drink. We ordered a drink then waited a good while on it arriving. A girl then came took our food order. Food was excellent very tasty I had pan fried wild chick with champ,seasonal veg.. broccoli, cauliflower and carrots Son had wild duck burger salted chips he said burger was very pink,some like some don't he was fine with it. Coffee mine a cappuccino fine His a white coffee with a skin on it,he had to remove the skin with his dinner knife,no sugar or tea spoons offered..
