Yr Hen Fecws Restaurant

We spotted this place after just about giving up and resigning ourselves to having a takeaway after having a mooch about town and finding nowhere really to have a sit down meal. The manager very kindly squeezed us in for a later time and we couldn't have been happier. The food was outstanding. Every mouthful was amazing and neither myself or my husband wanted our plate to ever be empty. It was that good. We want to come back to Porthmadog solely to eat here again.

We stayed for 4 nights, the room was lovely and clean and had a good ensuite, bed was comfy and good quality. Tea, milk etc was always topped up every day. A great breakfast lot's of choice and enough to keep you going all day. We had 2 evening meals at the restaurant that were tremendous 👌 Good central location for coast and all that snowdonia has to offer. We would not hesitate to stay again if we were hesitate to stay again. They welcome walkers and cyclists.

DINNER REVIEW - The food here is OUTSTANDING! Kudos to the chef/s! My husband and I were visiting Wales and struggled to find a restaurant near where we were staying that offered more than your standard take aways. We each had a starter and main whilst my husband had the dessert and we were not dissapointed!! Great quality food, friendly service and fairly priced for the entire package. I visited based upon the reviews and would reccomend you do too. Oh and make sure you book a table to avoid dissapoint! We saw a few people who didn't book get turned away due to being fully booked.

Recommend EVERYTHING!! We called in after being sent away from another restaurant that was fully booked. Fflur answered the phone and said that although they too were fully booked, she would squeeze us in if we were nearby. We were. She did! An amazing meal followed and we left happy & well fed customers. Food, ambiance, service - everything was perfect! I cannot recommend this place highly enough! Thank you Fflur!

We had dinner here and this was hands down the best restaurant we visited during our trip! Excellent wine and fantastic food! Really did not expect to find place like that in this tiny town! Be sure to book, as whole evening they turned people away, as fully booked! Every dish we had was excellent! I would travel back just to eat here! Staff friendly and efficient! Highly recommended!

Stayed only a single night, but the rooms were clean and well equipped, great bath, friendly staff, nice location on a quiet street but still near the action. We had to leave before breakfast was served but they gave us a breakfast to go that had enough food to feed an army. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanted a clean and quiet room.

We were staying in the Premier Inn and wandered around the town, mid-afternoon, looking to see somewhere for our evening meal. There are pubs that seem popular and a couple of restaurants that looked deserted. We'd glanced this place on Google and wandered past. By this stage, there was activity inside so we called in and booked that evening (they squeezed us in.) For those of you who like us, eat later, be advised that here, they finish taking orders at 8:30. We arrived a feather before our 8pm booking and had a small wait whilst they quickly reset a table. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, so much so that we booked for the following evening. After the dismal breakfast at the Premier Inn the following morning, during that evening's meal we enquired about their breakfast options. Suffice it to say we shall try and stay in their rooms on our next visit to Porthmadog.
