Every time we go to the Windmill we get consistent quality food and drink at decent prices and a fantastic vibe in the place. The environment and staff are top notch and it feels like everyone has bought into creating a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. It never disappoints and having a large part of the dining area as dog friendly is perfect. And to top it all, we watched an Open Theatre production of Twelfth Night in the garden. Truly memorable evening.

This place is heavenly, very beautiful view, good food, l loved my cheese burger with loads of fries, very well done, good ambience, cosy, romantic, get to see the ships coming to Dock in the port of Bristol.
Friendly staff, not long wait for the food, ample parking.

Wonderful views and great food. A restaurant with panoramic views of the Bristol Channel and Portishead. Clean and modern inside, the service was relaxed and friendly, there was a menu with the usual popular favourites and the food was hot and tasty. Booking recommended as it was busy when we were there, but it was for Sunday lunch so you would expect that. We had the Sunday roast, which was excellent, with a good selection of vegetables and a good sized Yorkshire Pudding. Definitely recommended.

Lovely pub with outstanding view. Only ordered sides of triple cooked chips as a snack but they were very good. Nice beets and fab services. 👌

Overall nice experience.
Car park there, dog friendly too.
Food was nice, had fish and chips and a coke, about 15 quid per person roughly.

Lovely food! Great atmosphere. Would recommend if your down this way but I would suggest to book in advance as we did and couldn't get a table until a little later than planned.

A restaurant/pub with an amazing view and atmosphere. The food and drinks are great, the vibe even greater.

Hard to fault the Windmill Inn. It is a large bar and restaurant split over three levels and outdoor terrace with outstanding views of the Portishead coast, 2nd Severn Crossing and the coast of Wales. The menu offered plenty of choice and the three dishes we tried were all well executed and served promopty. The dog welcome station was a nice touch. It's a popular place so definitely book ahead and tell them if you want a dog friendly table or a seat with a view. Plenty of parking and nice walks for the dogs.

10/10 for staff helpfulness. We had a really warm welcome & staff even helped with our tiny, teething, 3mo old baboo. View is lovely, food great, coffee's nice. Most impressed.

Friendly dogs all around! Polite staff and lovely service. Tasty, filling and fresh food that makes the experience all the more enjoyable. Quite an inclusive menu which is great! The atmosphere is very comforting and home-like. Very easy to sit down and relax while eating your food. Would recommend to all!

Fabulous sitting place with a wonderful view of the river. Loved my butternut squash, ricotta and spinach pie. Service was fine. But our mixed grilled plate had tomatoes and mushrooms missing completely. They apologised, of course. Nice place to go, on the whole.

Lovely view over the channel through massive glass walls. Food is great but expensive comparing to other places in the area.

Will start with a positive and say the parsnip soup was lovely! The rest of the food was average we had a xmas meal and for the money we paid for it just wasnt worth the price the veg was hard, the turkey and duck was dry, it took 3 members of staff to bring bread out with the soup the table didnt get cleared of side plates or used xmas crackers till near the end of the meal. The staff seemed unsure on a lot of things and when it came to paying well that was a puzzle in its self!! I dont no whether it was because we had a large party but the space we had was minimal and even though it wasnt the pubs fault there was a real loud bunch that just over took our space and didnt make it enjoyable!! Im not going to rule out going again may be a nice meal after xmas to see if it gets any better.

Had a very enjoyable halloumi and sweet potato burger with chips and coldslaw. Service was fast and efficient. Lovely pub clean and tidy and amazing views. Only down side there were a lot of dogs and yapping. A bit like a meet and greet for dog owners. But if you love dogs then this is the place 🙄🙈🐶

Very underwhelming, not been to the windy in a long time, always remember its portion sizes to be great... seems today there was a potato shortage, and two faggots the size of golf balls, all at the Stirling cost of £13. Won’t be recommending after this poor experience.

Good food, beautiful pub and surrounding area. I miss living in Portishead and close to the pub. However, service was very staggered and we didn’t get our food at the same time. Some people had finished their desserts before I even got mine

Amazing views, the younger staff are lovely. God forbid you say you have an allergin...the panic and disclaimers that come out are laughable! Saying that, the lady I spoke to was knowledgable and semi-friendly but still doesn't excuse the poor effort to cater for Coeliacs in 2017, especially as you pay full price and they just take food off! 🙄

Went out for a family meal. 1st time visiting will probably be my last. Location and the look of the place is amazing.
We had booked a table for 12 but what we got was a table for 8 with 12 chairs squeezed round even after asking for another table still not enough room.woth people sat on corners of tables.
We ordered the large portions of the roast and lasagne I am glad I ordered large as I would hate to see the standard size. For an extra £5 I got 2 extra roast potatoes and 4 extra peas (only reason I know the exact amount is the person next to me had the standard roast and she had 1 pea!) And an extra, very small, piece of meat.
Other people had the large fish & chips the only difference to the standard was the size of the plate and the price! One of our groups food came without the side of chips and instead of apologizing and sorting straight away we had 3/4 different waitresses come over and ask if we had have them yet and then was asked to prove that we had ordered them!
At one point a waitress was trying to get through with a baby chair and instead of being polite, as you would expect, and saying "I'm very sorry could you just move your table a little so I can't through" she came out with move your table cuz I can't get passed.
Overall the food was actually nice but the customer service of the waitresses left a lot to be desired and the menu needed changing to small and standard instead of standard and large.
So as I said my 1st first visit and unfortunately 1st imprissons mean a lot and I don't think I'll be returning.
