Today was a scorcher of a day and while walking home (in NE PDX) from running my errands I decided to stop in and grab a pint... Tavin's is everything you expect in a pub and pleasantly more. I was hot, tired, & about to drop. As soon as I walked in the AC was amazing.... but better yet was the super welcoming and pleasant smile of Karena the friendly bartender recently transplanted from Eugene. She genuinely welcomed me and made me to feel relaxed. She gave me a little info on events at Tavin's Pub, while she poured my pint and invited me to comeback and check out the scene.
Needless to say... I will be back.

Granted, I was there on a Monday afternoon when there was literally no one there, but still, I had excellent, friendly, prompt service. I'm not a typical customer in a bar either (I need de caff tea after 4pm, & can't tolerate alcohol, juice, or pop). I chatted extensively with the bartender about stage managing/acting projects I'm working on but didn't feel "pressured" into a conversation. Overall, it was an enjoyable stop on my afternoon
