Amazing food and service and beautifully presented meals. I would highly recommend for a night out or a celebration and the food is simply perfection! An intimate setting and a great atmosphere! I cannot rate highly enough. Make sure you book in advance!

The food and service was exquisite and the attention to detail was above and beyond. I would highly recommend dining here and is great for fine dining. Would highly recommend booking in advance as limited seating.

Had, shall we say, a significant birthday for my mother here for 10 of us. The quality comes at a price, but there were no complaints even from the teenagers present! Most seating is for smaller groups but they accommodated our larger party in the raised area to the back of the restaurant. Although "relaxed" might be seen as their intended goal, it does mean the front of house look just like customers! (An observation as opposed to a complaint). Serving staff were accommodating and knowledgeable about the dishes.

We mostly visit this restaurant for special occasions because it delivers an outstanding meal each and every time. The menu is very well put together complete with breads in between. Service is very good, attentive always. There are a great selection of wines and other alcoholic beverages to compliment your meal, and also a tipple before/after. The food is very very tasty, for such high quality it's still a great price. Sure you pay a bit more than your usual independent restaurant, but it's well worth it - you won't be disappointed. Have enjoyed many meals at Montparnasse, menu interesting, cooked and served well with a great supporting wine list. Had a private party in upstairs dinning room and despite the numbers the standard was maintained. Good value whether just dinner for 2 or 20.

We enjoyed an excellent meal in this cosy and quiet restaurant that has been established for many years. The choice of dishes is limited but very interesting, of excellent quality and includes vegetarian options. Seating is for small groups, but this makes its atmosphere quiet and cosy. My wife and I went there for an anniversary meal and found it perfect for that occasion. We found the proprietor friendly, knowledgeable about his food and wine. He was easy to talk with. Service was discrete and good. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.

The food and service were excellent. We both had different dishes and each were exquisite. There was homemade bread, entrées and mini starters included. Absolutely gorgeous desserts and delicious wine.

The best restaurant in the region, let alone the city. The food is exceptional with a great wine list. The staff are very friendly and helpful with a warm welcome from the proprietor. Unfortunately, we don't visit quite as often as we'd like but the consistency of the whole experience remains excellent throughout the years. Thoroughly recommended.

Great food, great selection of wine. Lovely atmosphere. If you book a table for more than 7 you can sometimes get the whole top area to yourself!

We were down from London visiting my son and he recommended this restaurant to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. The food was wonderful, the flavours and textures perfect and the extras something else! Loved the root parsnip foam and the handmade bread. Service was friendly and impeccable. Definitely worth the money and not overpriced.
